SEGA and RGG Studio have released a new story trailer for Stranger Than Heaven, offering a closer look at the first chapter of protagonist Makoto Daito’s life. Titled “Act 1: Kokura Story Trailer,” the video explores the events that bring Daito to Japan and shape his early experiences in the country.
The trailer follows Daito, who leaves behind persecution in America by stowing away aboard the merchant Orpheus’s ship in pursuit of Japan. During the journey, he meets Yu Shinjo, another stowaway who eventually becomes his best friend. Their arrival in Kokura exposes them to the harsh realities awaiting them in Japan.
The footage also highlights Daito’s encounters with people whose lives become intertwined with his own. It shows the circumstances that lead him to become a showman and his efforts to establish the foundations he needs to survive in his new surroundings.
SEGA and RGG Studio plan to release additional videos focusing on Daito’s life in each of the cities featured in Stranger Than Heaven. These trailers will be released sequentially in the future, offering further looks at the different stages of his life.
