Being stranded beneath the Antarctic ice is bad enough. Waking up inside a mysterious research facility, with your memory in pieces and a potential global crisis looming, is a whole different problem.
We Were Here Tomorrow is out now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC, bringing the latest chapter in Total Mayhem Games’ cooperative puzzle-adventure series to players who know that sometimes the most important tool in a game is a friend who can actually follow instructions.
With a retro-futuristic setting, strange experiments and puzzles that demand proper teamwork, this latest outing takes the familiar We Were Here formula into a new environment. Crossplay is supported across Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, so finding someone to share the mystery with doesn’t have to mean owning the same platform.

Two Explorers, One Very Strange Facility
The expedition begins with a rescue mission, but things quickly go wrong. Trapped beneath the ice of Antarctica, the two Explorers awaken inside Norček Industries with little memory of how they got there. Director Kathleen Bowe needs their help to continue the work of a missing research team, and the consequences of failure could extend far beyond the facility itself.
Much like in previous series installments, the way forward isn’t as simple as following a corridor and pressing a few buttons. We Were Here Tomorrow builds its puzzles around two players who often find themselves separated, each with different information and tools. Walkie-talkies become essential, allowing partners to describe what they can see, compare clues and work out solutions that neither could manage alone.
Communication Is Your Most Important Equipment
The asymmetrical design means each player has a distinct role, with their own perspective on the challenges ahead. You might be looking at a mechanism your partner cannot see, or holding information that makes an otherwise baffling puzzle suddenly make sense.
Trust and clear communication are central to making progress. The game also introduces challenges involving time, gravity and space, pushing players to think beyond simply matching symbols or finding keys. If you and your partner aren’t explaining things properly, expect a few misunderstandings along the way.
Welcome To The Future That The 1980s Imagined
Norček Industries gives this entry a different visual identity from the series’ earlier adventures. The facility is filled with strange technology, hidden secrets and the sort of retro-futuristic machinery that feels lifted from an alternative vision of tomorrow. A nostalgic synthwave soundtrack helps establish the atmosphere as the Explorers dig deeper into the company’s work.
The questions become increasingly difficult to ignore. Why were the pair brought to the facility? What happened to the missing researchers? And what exactly is Norček Industries trying to achieve?
Those mysteries sit alongside the co-op puzzles, giving players a reason to keep investigating beyond the next locked door. Familiar references to the wider We Were Here series are also scattered throughout, while the new setting and mechanics aim to push the established experience in a different direction.
The Next Chapter For We Were Here
Total Mayhem Games has spent years building a series around the simple but effective idea of two people solving problems from different sides. Since the original We Were Here arrived, the franchise has grown to five games and more than 15 million players, according to the studio’s launch announcement.
We covered the announcement of We Were Here Tomorrow back in February, when it was presented as the series’ biggest evolution yet. Now the full adventure is here, with crossplay making it easier for friends on different systems to team up. Our previous reviews of the series, including We Were Here Too, We Were Here Together and We Were Here Forever, provide a look at how the cooperative formula has developed over the years.
We Were Here Tomorrow is out now on Xbox Series X|S (Xbox Store), PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam for £16.99. If you’ve got a friend willing to listen carefully, share clues and occasionally admit they’ve been looking at the wrong thing for ten minutes, Norček Industries is ready to put your teamwork to the test.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
