Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X S and PC through Steam. Developed by Auroch Digital and published by Big Fan Games under Devolver Digital, the game picks up right where the 2023 original ended. A Nintendo Switch 2 version will follow at a later date. The title costs $24.99 and carries Steam Deck Verified status.

New Heroes And Branching Campaign

Players pick one of two characters at the start. Returning Ultramarine Malum Caedo relies on heavy firepower with his Boltgun, Chainsword, grenades and powerful charge attack. New Sister of Battle Nyra Veyrath moves faster and uses a Power Sword, Bolt Pistol, Flamer, Meltagun and explosive Melta Bomb along with her signature slide ability.

The single player campaign stretches across more than 30 levels set on varied worlds including hive cities, swampy death worlds and the interior of a massive Ark of Omen. Branching routes let players decide the order of missions. Combat stays true to the original formula of rapid strafing and explosive gunplay while expanding the weapon pool with Bolters, Shotguns, Flamers, Stakethrowers and Plasma Guns.

Chaos Enemies And Special Guest

All four Chaos god factions appear with more than 40 new enemy types. Bloodletters and Juggernauts from Khorne charge aggressively while Daemonettes and Noise Marines from Slaanesh add speed and sonic attacks. Familiar threats such as Nurglings and cultists return alongside tougher boss fights. The central villain is Vashtorr the Arkifane, a demigod of dark technology.

Mick Gordon, known for his work on DOOM and Wolfenstein, provides an original track for the final confrontation with Vashtorr. Extra options include an Undying Mode that softens the difficulty and optional map tools for navigation.
