Arc System Works Launches New Tokyo Studio, Arc System Works Tokyo Studio “Takumi”
Arc System Works has announced that it’s establishing a brand new development studio, Arc System Works Tokyo Studio “Takumi” in a little over two weeks on November 2, 2026. The studio will be located in Urban Center Shinjuku at 2-5-10 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo.
It’s noted to intend to bolster ArcSys’ development capabilities, one of which being a new fighting game to be funded through the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, or METI ‘IP360’ Project, one of those government grant programs for the arts, intended to increase overseas sales of Japanese art and such matters to 20 trillion JPY by the year 2033.Other companies receiving grants include Koei Tecmo, Konami Digital Entertainment, Applibot, Yokozuna Games. the IP360 project doesn’t solely focus on games, obviously, expanding throughout the creative fields as a whole, and publicly releasing a list of projects that will be funded by the project on its website. It’s wholly in Japanese, obviously, but if you understand Japanese or happen to have a reliable method to translate, well there you are.
ArcSys has not gone into detail as to what the game that the project is funding will be, only that it’ll be a new title and not from one of it’s currently existing franchises, for all platforms and localized in multiple languages, and “Takumi” itself is meant to be both a production base and “outbound collaboration hub” for projects worldwide.
Additionally, ArcSys is increasing recruitment for creators to be founding members with the new studio. Its recruitment page is currently focused on Asia, with the American side of the Team Arc Creators program, as of the moment of this writing, at least, not currently accepting new applicants. In due time, I suspect, but for now, keep an eye if you’ve any interest.
