PEGI将含付费随机物品的现有仅数字游戏重评级至PEGI 16
Paid random items move qualifying digital-only games to PEGI 16
PEGI正将含付费随机物品的现有仅数字游戏从PEGI 3、7或12级重评为PEGI 16级。该追溯更新仅限数字游戏，10月分阶段推行，且北美ESRB已于3月表示不跟进。

PEGI is re-rating existing digital-only games with paid random items, moving titles currently rated PEGI 3, PEGI 7 or PEGI 12 to PEGI 16. The Games Rating Authority (GRA), which administers PEGI in the UK, is applying the change in stages, so familiar games may receive updated age guidance over the coming weeks.
GamesIndustry.biz reports that GRA policy manager Connor Hinde outlined the rollout in a LinkedIn post.
Which existing games are affected?
The change is specifically for existing digital-only titles that contain paid random items and currently sit in one of three age-rating bands. It applies whether the game was originally rated through PEGI’s Classic procedure or the International Age Rating Coalition (IARC) system.
| Current rating | Game type | Paid feature | New classification |
|---|---|---|---|
| PEGI 3, 7 or 12 | Existing digital-only games | Paid random items, such as loot boxes | PEGI 16 (paid random items) |
That narrower scope matters: this is a retroactive update for qualifying digital-only games, not a blanket change to every PEGI-rated release. Players already following age ratings for live-service games such as Marvel Rivals may see the guidance attached to some existing titles change as the process advances.
Ratings will change through October
The GRA has started applying the updated criteria to a selection of existing digital games, with further changes rolling out progressively through October. It has acknowledged that many ratings will change in a short period and directed publishers and developers with questions to the PEGI Helpdesk.
The move also puts PEGI on a different path from North America’s Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB). In March, the ESRB said it would not adopt PEGI’s announced age-rating changes, citing the potential for confusion among users.
The GRA’s progressive re-rating process is set to continue through the end of October.
