Taken from Steam:
Today marks the start of our next journey. Thank you to the millions (yes, millions!) of you who joined us during Early Access. We're now live on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, XBOX Series X | S and PC on Epic Games Store, Jagex Launcher and Steam.
I dabbled in early access and had some fun, looking forward to jumping in to 1.0. It's a fun mix of Runescape skill leveling and survial building and crafting. Shame it launched so close to Valheim.

Roadmap:
It's free for those who have Playstation Plus.
It's also on GamePass right ? I was planning to give it a try.
I have it on my wishlist
Looking forward to 1.0 reviews. All I can find are older early access reviews.
How many friends can play co-op together?
Can randos grief your progress?
I don't know anything about this really.

I believe 4 people on a non-dedicated server and 9 on a dedicated server, but probably need someone else to confirm.
Interested in hearing impressions. Though Enshrouded and this seem extremely similar to me and I haven't time for both ![]()

Yep, it's on there.
Can I skip all the survival craft building aspects?
It's a freaking Runescape, let me explore and build my hero instead of cutting woods and breaking rocks like a dirty peasant.
Tobor
Died as he lived: wrong about Doritos
What on earth is a Jagex Launcher? Sounds like a weapon you would find in the game.
I dabbled with it for 7~ hours a few months ago, in the patch right before they added the Agility stat (for jumping/traversal skills). And you know what? I friggin' loved it. Even as someone with no experience with RuneScape whatsoever.
Doing farming/gathering stuff while skill numbers are going up tickles me right in the autism real good, I tell you. Plus the exploration is great 'cause you got a windy super jump magic, and you can find permanent max health increases and mini-dungeons that give you materials to make fast travel points.
Since there's such a big post-launch roadmap I'll probably get around to this in a few more months from now, cause boy I got a lot else to play, unfortunately.

No, it's a survival game at its core. I'm sure you can edit the game settings to tailor it, though I have not checked those out yet.
Is this an MMO like the older Runescape, or party-based MP?

Sounds like one of those rare, red box Phantasy Star Online weapons.

It's a survival-crafting game that can be played single player and has small-scale multiplayer server support.
Was going to be playing this with friends until wow forever announcement. Now this is just a toy story meme :(. Maybe next year lol. It does look really good though, so hope everyone enjoys it !
cutting woods and breaking rocks
But those two things are core RuneScape activities lmao
What's going on with all survival crafters suddenly going 1.0. within these last couple of months?

An interesting thing is that the devs are teasing an announcement about the future of the game. Some believe that they might spin it off into a more multiplayer / online experience. I believe there is a Runescape event soon so might hear more about it.

What do you mean? Did I miss anything?

They're talking about the Toy Story meme that states "I don't want to play with you anymore" or something like that from the old to the new toy.

Ah, I see, now I feel stupid =) Thanks for clarifying!
It's basically a more colorful valheim without procedurally generated worlds. It's fantastic.

You literally just described RuneScape, it was and always will be a skinner box lol.

Yeah I was too lazy to find the image lol.
Really curious about switch 2 performance. I have it downloading and will try it out after work.

Would really love a follow up on this as I'm thinking of grabbing it for switch myself. Seen some footage out there but it's a bit hard to translate to the actual feeling of playing.
im irrationally excited for this and enshrouded
I have coworkers that chop trees for 8 hours a day on this game

So true, which make it really funny to me.
I started this today on Gamepass and I am honestly hooked. I sank about 4 hours into it today, and that surprised me.
It was my first attempt to play a survival crafting game and it does a really good job of easing you into things.
There is something really fun about all of the different systems playing into one another that it makes it really engaging to loot, craft and explore. I really enjoy going out into the world, fighting and looting and then coming back to my base to see what I can build next.
I can't speak as someone who knows a lot about the genre but as someone new to it I felt this game did a really good job of teaching and showing me why these types of games are engaging.
Is it like, really difficult to actually put a roof on a house for anyone else?
Spent about 2 hours on the tutorial, im hooked lol.
I'm curious! But is this solo friendly? Or mostly just a multiplier experience?
I've really enjoyed playing this with a mate tonight, it's so moreish. God knows when we'll get on together again, gutted this doesn't use a grounded 2 style cloud save system so we can share the world.

I've played it entirely solo and was having a great time.

the shared save system is so brilliant and i wish all games like this had it
only other option is to run a dedicated server which isn't anywhere near as easy
Anyone got switch 2 impressions so far?
Looking for any excuse to not get it on PC like everything else lol

Sunk about 4 hours into this today. It's good. It's quite focused compared to its peers, and the world is static, which I like. It's not too overwhelming, and the skill system means you can focus on certain skills or dip into them all like I am. Combat is pretty decent too. Very solo friendly so far too.
Im enjoying it solo so far just to get the mechanics down. Has anyone played it online yet?
As a recovering Runescape addict, I'll definitely play this someday. But might as well wait for all the DLC to be out.

Ahh so it's a true Runescape experience!
Not looking good, sadly. It's super blurry.
Ughhhh, figures. I'll wait and see if anyone here actually has personal experience with it, but I'll hold off either way for now.
Is it like, really difficult to actually put a roof on a house for anyone else?
Yes! I have one wall that I can't put a roof on as it says unstable.
I've played for about 2 hours and sitting here trying to decide if I want to continue or refund. It seems like an ok game but I like sandbox games more.

There are pillars that are used to add stability, I know that much.
I just couldn't get the roof tiles to line up correctly haha.

Played a bit more. This has a really satisfying pace to unlock due to the skill system. Obviously it'll run out eventually, and I'm sure it'll slow down, but this feels like a much more focused "one" of these games.
I've only played for 15 minutes so far. But just poking around, I think I'm gonna really love this with the skill system. It feels like it's going to bring some of that satisfying (to me) second screen grinding that RuneScape is known for. Often looking for a chill game to grind away when watching a show, and I feel like this will scratch that itch nicely.
Really enjoying it so far. Its a nice sweet spot between Palworld where the actual survival aspect of the game is almost entirely a non issue, and Valheim where... well its Valheim.
That being said, yeah Enshrouded will probably immediately replace it when it drops on PS5

I mean, I played Runescape since 2003...and I cut down countless trees to raise my Woodcutting, burning some logs to level Firemaking, using a knife to make bows to level Fletching. Plus endless Mining of metals to level Smithing to make them into armor and weapons.
It's the Runescape experience.
Played some hours with friends and this is gooooooood
