NVIDIA announced in an official article published on October 13, 2026, that DLSS 5 will be getting some substantial performance upgrades in the upcoming update. This new update will be released on October 16, 2026, which coincides with the release of the brand-new NVIDIA RTX Spark laptops.

RTX Remix users will get DLSS 5 on October 23, 2026, with the company claiming that this will help modders remaster old titles. NVIDIA has also released a DLSS Frame Generation Performance Mod patch on October 13, 2026, via the recent app beta update.

Official company statistics demonstrate that the NVIDIA DLSS 5 performance has doubled just this month alone. October 2026’s performance is also apparently 10x as good as the March 2026 version. Here is what has been announced regarding the upcoming update:
“The DLSS 5 October update shrinks the footprint by 24% to roughly 118 million parameters while reducing 4K VRAM usage by 20%. The result is half the GPU overhead of the September version while maintaining comparable visual fidelity.”
NBA 2K27 is used as an example in the official article, as it allegedly gets up to a 1.4x performance boost. However, the FPS shown in the official video with the old DLSS 5 vs. the new one varied, as the 1.4x performance boost wasn’t consistent.
As for general news, the aforementioned Performance Mode for Frame Generation via the NVIDIA app beta update is apparently 35% faster than the old version. Also according to NVIDIA, their DLSS technology has already improved “over 1,000 games and apps.”
2. RTX Spark Will Include the New NVIDIA DLSS 5 Update
Prices for the RTX Spark range from $2,599.99 to $6,999.99.

Pre-orders are currently available, with the various laptops being slated for release on October 16, 2026. NVIDIA claims that the RTX Spark will do the following:
- Provide “broad anti-cheat support” across multiple popular multiplayer video games.
- Play 100+ popular games at launch, such as Genshin Impact, Marvel Rivals, and NBA 2K27, among others.

Hogwarts Legacy and Where Winds Meet are the two games getting support
NVIDIA DLSS 5 will also be providing official support for two popular games:
- Hogwarts Legacy: 3D-Guided Neural Rendering will be available on November 5, 2026, to improve lighting and materials
- Where Winds Meet: Planned to get the DLSS 5 upgrade in “late November” and 3D-Guided Neural Rendering “in the near future”
