SEGA announces Football Manager 27 launch preview, letting players try the game out for free
With the game’s launch just weeks away, SEGA and Sports Interactive announced a free launch preview for Football Manager 27 (or FM27 for short).
Typically, free weekends for games happen months (or sometimes years) after their initial launch. Thus, it’s quite a surprise to see Football Manager get what is essentially a free weekend. While it may seem more like a beta test, a free weekend is a more apt comparison, given that this version of the game should be close to what players can experience with the launch version that releases in just a few weeks.
What’s also worth noting is that this is not paid early access, as players don’t need to purchase a Deluxe Edition of the game. On October 30, anyone can download the FM27 Launch Preview on PC and Xbox Game Pass for free with no catch.
This launch preview will be available for five days. Players can then continue their progress (including story runs) from the Launch Preview, provided that they play on the same platform. SEGA will also offer a 10% discount during the free play period. Those who avail of this offer can get continued Launch Preview access between November 4 and November 11.
Football Manager 27 will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Mac on November 11, 2026. It will also be released via Netflix’s games platform.
