Valve 未发售游戏 Deadlock 创 262,145 玩家同时在线峰值
Valve’s Unreleased Deadlock Sets a 262,145-Player Peak
Deadlock is still an invite-only game, but its latest Steam peak has already carried it past one of Valve’s longest-running multiplayer hits. GosuGamers reports that the game reached 262,145 concurrent players after the arrival of Solomon, edging beyond Team Fortress 2’s cited record of 253,997.
The figures put a striking number on Deadlock’s reach while it remains in development and without a confirmed release date. Reports from GosuGamers and TopStar News agree on the new peak and the comparison with TF2; the exact date attached to the milestone differs across coverage, so it’s best to stick to the numbers.
A new high for Valve’s unreleased game
Team Fortress 2 set its 253,997-player high three years earlier, following a major update that came after a six-year gap between major updates, according to GosuGamers. Deadlock’s new mark is therefore more than a personal best: it puts the newer game ahead of a landmark peak for another Valve multiplayer title.

Deadlock first opened to the public through invitations in 2024, when it reached 171,490 concurrent players. A later surge around the Old Gods, New Blood update brought it close to 100,000, while the more recent City Never Sleeps update added six heroes. GosuGamers says each new hero in that rollout has arrived alongside another player-count high.
That update’s growing roster has already been the subject of Deadlock’s six-hero rollout. Solomon, described by GosuGamers as chess-themed, is the latest addition associated with the record-setting surge. The concurrent-player figure measures how many people were playing at once, rather than total players or sales.
| Game | Concurrent peak | Access | Milestone |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deadlock | 262,145 | Invite-only, PC via Steam | New game record |
| Team Fortress 2 | 253,997 | PC via Steam | Previous cited peak |
More heroes are on the way, but no launch date
Deadlock’s development has included a shift from a futuristic cyberpunk look to a 1950s New York noir setting, partly in response to player feedback. The City Never Sleeps update uses a vote-based order for its six new heroes; by GosuGamers’ account, Rat King, Baba and Solomon had arrived, with Deadman Danny, Nurse Harrow and Violet still to come.

Valve has indicated that City Never Sleeps includes much of the work the team had been doing before moving towards polish, according to GosuGamers. That points to a later development phase, but not a launch announcement: Deadlock remains unreleased, its release date is still listed as TBA, and access continues by invitation. For players watching Valve’s next big multiplayer project, the record is a milestone-not confirmation that the game is nearly ready to ship.
