EA关闭BioWare工作室并取消下一款Mass Effect游戏

EA has today announced a bunch of changes including 400 job losses, and the closure of Bioware resulting in the next Mass Effect game being cancelled.

“As we focus on these larger opportunities, we’ve had a small team at BioWare working on early-development for Mass Effect. We’ve made the decision not to move forward with this development, which means we’re closing the studio and our Edmonton workspace. BioWare is a legendary studio that helped define the role-playing genre, and we do not take this decision lightly.” is what was said in relation to Bioware closing.

EA has said that it will focus on fewer gamers with larger investments behind its bigger franchises. This includes a new game by DICE and Respawn (presumably Star Wars Battlefront 3) in addition to a new open-world American football game and Fight Night returning.

The company also confirmed that Marvel’s Iron Man and a new Star Wars Jame is on the way in addition to more Battlefield games, and The Sims would continue to be worked on with one game cancelled but all people put on another new game called Project Evergreen.

All-in-all, it’s another hit for the games industry. We gave Dragon Age Inquisition a 10/10 and absolutely loved it, but EA sadly said that it didn’t meet sales expectations.
