《怪物猎人：荒野》Switch 2 版序章 demo 上线、预购开启，12月4日发售

A “prologue” demo for Monster Hunter Wilds has gone live on Nintendo Switch 2’s eShop as experienced and new hunters prepare for its December 4 launch. Plus, pre-orders are now open.

Capcom shared the news today, October 20, pointing players interested in the port of the hit action RPG to the Nintendo eShop, where the game will sell for $39.99 (with a limited-time pre-order discount down to $29.99). Regional prices may vary, but we’re seeing it selling for 29.99 euros on the European eShop right now.

“Players who pre-order by December 3 will receive an early adopter discount, plus the “Guild Knight Set” layered armour and “Hope Charm” Talisman as bonuses. The physical Monster Hunter Wilds Deluxe Edition is also currently available for pre-order via retailers and includes the base game and Deluxe Pack cosmetic items.”

As for the demo, it contains the game’s full character creator, early missions set in the Windward Plains area, and offline play (though local multiplayer is supported). All the progress carries over to the full game when it releases in December, so it’s a nice way to both test how the port runs and get a head start.

Though we were a bit sceptical earlier this year, there are reasons to be hopeful about this ambitious port, as Capcom’s output on Switch 2 has been stunning so far. The final test of sorts was Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen’s conversion, which turned out to be a fantastic one. Moreover, the many optimisations developed for Nintendo’s systems also seem to help these games’ technically flawed versions on the other platforms, so the ports seem like a win-win situation for everyone involved.

Monster Hunter Wilds is currently available on PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The Ascendance expansion will come to all systems in 2027.
