Helldivers 2’s next Premium Warbond arrives on October 20, bringing a trio of long-range weapons built around precision and heavy hits. Arrowhead’s Scope of Authority adds the bolt-action R-40 Sightliner, anti-material AMW-20 Apex and energy-based LAS-44 Nova, alongside gear that could give squads more options for keeping enemies at a distance.
Scope of Authority loads up on ranged firepower
The R-40 Sightliner is a bolt-action sniper rifle that pierces armour and deals heavy damage. For targets that call for something even more substantial, the AMW-20 Apex is an anti-material rifle intended to take on the largest enemies. Its reload requires help from another teammate, making it a weapon that asks for a bit of cooperation as well as a steady aim.
The LAS-44 Nova brings a different kind of long-range option, firing thermal shots that are not explosive after a short charge. That delay means players will need to time their shots, rather than treating it like an instant-fire weapon. The R-40 and Apex also join the growing range of equipment available through Warbonds, following the loadout additions in Helldivers 2’s Ironclad Democracy Warbond.
There are tools for closer encounters, too. The P-44 Mist is a machine pistol designed to help clear weaker enemies while repositioning, while the G-11 Caltrops slows, stuns and explodes when an enemy steps over it. Between those options and the new rifles, the Warbond covers more than simply picking targets off from afar.
New armour rewards keeping a low profile
Scope of Authority also includes two armour sets with the same passive ability, Stationary Shroud. Crouching or going prone reduces both the distance at which enemies can detect the player and weapon sway, giving the new gear a clear focus on staying concealed and steady.
