Developer Just2D and publisher Deck13 have announced that a sequel to the 2024 RPG Drova - Forsaken Kin is in the works, and it'll be coming to Switch 2 at some point next year.

Drova II - Torn Lands boasts the same pixel art aesthetic as its predecessor and continues its fantasy story, though it looks like the dev has aimed to go bigger and better this time around, with an expanded combat system, two central factions to choose between, and more story-influencing decisions to make.

This time, you'll get the chance to explore a new Otherworld, transformed after the events of the last game, and meet the warring ancient tribes that lead it. Based on the above reveal trailer, we can expect plenty of options for how to approach combat, a bunch of NPCs equipped with side quests, and a fair few nasties lurking in the woods, too.

Here's a brief rundown of the game's key features and a handful of screenshots:

Our Philosophy: No Questmarkers, no hand holding - an RPG which respects your decisions and time.
A new world for you to explore: Explore the vast new world, the Torn Lands. The open world is even more detailed, more curated and filled with spots and secrets to discover.
An improved and expanded combat system: Experience an improved and expanded combat system with impactful weapon and gear choices. Choose your own playstyle and abilities to face your foes. And yes, playing a Combat Druid is possible this time.
Completely new Playstyles: Due to the improvements completely new playstyles are now possible. Want to become a Combat Druid? Or a Hunter? That’s up to you!
The Factions of the Torn Lands: Join one of two factions that offer new, unique combat styles. And each offers their own secrets…
It’s your journey: In Drova II there are many ways to change the outcome of quests and the overall story. It’s your journey. Your decisions will shape the Torn Lands.
Each NPC is important: Every NPC you meet has its own daily routine, its own history and stories to tell, a believable place within the world.
More to discover: The Torn Lands are filled with side activities, hidden secrets, quests and there is also an original Minigame to master this time.

There's still no precise release date on this one outside of the vague '2027' window just yet, but we'll be keeping an eye out for more information in the coming months.
