Welcome to the world of Pokémon... A horror-inspired love letter to the creepypastas and edgy romhacks of the late 2000s and early 2010s, Pokémon: Ghost Grey version offers an original story, taking place in a decayed Kanto region set 50 years after the events of Gold, Silver, and Crystal. These lands have become decayed, and the once vibrant and lively region of Kanto has been overrun by ghosts, ghouls and bad actors, lived in by broken people with no way for escape...

A full-length Pokemon adventure from start to finish, with countless secrets and even postgame to look forward to!
Over 200 ghost pokemon, including every existing ghost-type as well as 120+ original regional variant!
Full graphical overhaul including battle animations, new items, new overworlds, new areas and more!
Every single visual in the rom has been drawn with original sprites and visuals!
An original soundtrack composed by Whale, with over 130 original songs and jingles created just for Ghost Grey!!!
updated Mechanics, including an added fairy type, phsyical/special split and more recent abilities to match the new Pokémon being added in the game. Items from future installments such as Choice Scarf and Eviolite are also included!
Unlimited Rare candy key item and dedicated grinding area "The Fight Club" ensures that leveling up is quick and easy for those who wish to do so!
Improved Pokedex that shows a pokemon's available abilities and base stats!
purchaseable exp share, ability changing item, and exp boosting item as early as the first city
Unlimited use TMs and forgettable HMs! HMs have also been buffed/changed to be much more useful in battle!
Countless secrets and surprises abound in a familiar yet strange world!

Type chart changes: Steel now resists ghost and dark like before gen 6, Psychic now is not weak to ghost like in gen 1, fairy now only resists dragon and is not immune to it. Ghost vs ghost damage is now reduced to 1.5x damage instead of 2.0x damage
EVs and IVs as well as hidden power are not in the game, all Pokémon have 0 IVs and cannot gain EVs through battles or items
There are no eggs or breeding
Power of Dark Pulse and Crunch are reduced to 70 power from 80 power
New moves: Purify (physical psychic move that applies foresight on hit), Shatterpoint (physical psychic move that replaces brick break), Soul Shift (psychic type u-turn), Jumpscare (ghost type fake out) and many more!

Congrats on release! Joined the Discord to report a bug, but there is no bug reporting channel from what I could see.

Registering the Rare Candie and using Select to quick use it freezes the game. At least on Retroarch, mGBA core. Not sure if it's intended or not (since it makes a spooky glitch sound xD).

1.01 is the patch in the Discord and in the Hackdex (no idea about the Google Drive since it's just called GhostGrey.bps)

Beat the game, the writing, pace, wild encounters, artwork, world building, and the "secrets" without documentation makes the game a fresh breath of air. Played all big fangames/hacks this year and this one is a top 3 for sure, thanks for making it

enjoying this hack a lot, but i've hit a roadblock. i just beak erika and everything is telling me to go further into the mushroom tunnels. i've done what feels like 12 laps of the whole place but i can't find where im supposed to go? i even tried to get into the other "brotherhood of bugs restricted area" places (the one in viridian forest for example). am i just dumb?

edit: leaving this up incase someone else needed help, but you have to go to the former game corner where the mushrooms were incubating

i don't know if it's in the game or not, but Soul Shift does the same thing in the overworld if that's what you wanted it for.

is there a town map somewhere?
