《Samson》开发商 Liquid Swords 已破产

Liquid Swords, the studio behind open-world brawler ‘Samson: A Tyndalston Story‘ has gone bankrupt, and reportedly hadn’t paid staff salaries for “several months”.

This comes via a report from Breakit, which confirmed that Stockholm’s District Court has placed a bankruptcy order against the company, with 30 or so developers at the studio affected. Reportedly, staff had not been paid for a couple of months, and actually petitioned for the order to be placed themselves so that the state can settle the unpaid wages.

Liquid Swords was helmed by Christofer Sundberg, one of the creators of Avalanche Studios’ ‘Just Cause’ franchise. We reviewed Samson at launch, and found it to be pretty broken, and pretty monotonous, and we weren’t alone. Regardless, the developer put significant effort into making it right, with multiple patches released and console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in September of this year.

Despite the launch on additional platforms, it doesn’t look like it was enough to keep the studio going. According to the appointed administrator for the studio, Cirio Law, Liquid Swords, Samson and all company assets are now up for sale. What happens next remains to be seen.
