《Samson》开发商 Liquid Swords 宣告破产，工作室待售

Liquid Swords, the Stockholm studio behind Samson: A Tyndalston Story, was declared bankrupt by the Stockholm District Court on October 12, 2026. The ruling lands six months after Samson launched on PC as the studio’s first and only game.

Law firm Cirio confirmed the bankruptcy in an announcement on its official website and named attorney Karl Björlin as the court-appointed trustee. The estate’s assets consist mainly of the intellectual property tied to Samson, and the trustee is now offering the business and its assets for sale to a new owner.

Christofer Sundberg, the co-founder of Avalanche Studios and creator of the Just Cause series, founded Liquid Swords in 2020. Cirio’s announcement describes the team as developers with experience at DICE, Rockstar, Starbreeze, and Avalanche Studios.

Bid Deadline for the Liquid Swords Sale

The sale runs on a short schedule. Interested buyers must submit indicative bids in writing by 12:00 on October 21, 2026, Swedish time. Cirio has published preliminary bidding documents alongside the announcement and lists senior associate Nadin Faili as the contact for sale inquiries.

The 12:00 deadline in Stockholm converts to 10:00 UTC, 6:00 AM EDT, 3:00 AM PDT, and 5:00 PM WIB. Liquid Swords has not announced any plans for future Samson updates while the estate is under the trustee’s control.

How Sweden’s Wage Guarantee Covers Liquid Swords Staff

Salary Guarantee

The bankruptcy places Liquid Swords employees under Sweden’s state wage guarantee, which pays salaries that an insolvent employer can no longer cover. The trustee decides how much each employee receives, and the Swedish Tax Agency has handled the payouts since February 1, 2025.

The guarantee follows fixed limits set by Swedish law.

Earned wages: Salary earned up to three months before the bankruptcy petition, plus the period between the petition and the court ruling.
After the ruling: Salary for the first month after the bankruptcy decision.
Vacation pay: Up to five saved vacation days from the previous vacation year.
Maximum amount: Four price base amounts in total per employee.
Maximum length: Eight months of wages.

Samson Release Timeline

Samson spent six months on sale before the bankruptcy ruling. After the PC launch, Sundberg acknowledged in a public post that the studio “released a game with flaws”, and Liquid Swords followed with regular patches, a content update, and a console release.

December 2025: Liquid Swords reveals Samson for PC.
April 8, 2026: The game launches on Steam and the Epic Games Store for $24.99.
May 13, 2026: Content Update #1 adds three new game modes and a reworked Combat Camera.
September 21, 2026: Samson arrives on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
October 12, 2026: The Stockholm District Court declares Liquid Swords bankrupt.
October 21, 2026: The deadline for indicative bids on the business closes at 12:00 Swedish time.

The next confirmed date is the October 21 bid deadline. Cirio has not named any buyer or announced an agreement covering the future of Samson.
