The Pokemon Trading Card Game will receive a new official release on October 23 in the form of the Deck Crafter's Collection. The new addition to the ever-expanding Pokemon TCG lineup is centered on helping players assemble or improve competitive decks with fixed card selections.

Deck-building kits occupy an inherently different niche from ready-to-play decks and standard booster expansions. Because a competitive Pokemon TCG deck can devote a substantial share of its 60 cards to Trainers, a curated pool of widely used staples can strengthen multiple archetypes without locking players into a particular lineup of pocket monsters. That is the exact niche the upcoming Deck Crafter's Collection is designed to fill.

Pokemon TCG Deck Crafter's Collection Includes 40 Tournament Staples

The Pokemon Company

The Pokemon Company has scheduled the Deck Crafter's Collection for an October 23 release. The kit features 40 playable cards, including one foil Meowth ex, 39 tournament-ready Trainer cards, a Deck Crafter's Guide, nine labeled card dividers, and one Pokemon TCG booster pack. According to one early August 2026 leak, the upcoming box will retail for $9.99. Unlike its release date, the price tag of the Deck Crafter's Collection has not yet been officially confirmed.

Pokemon TCG Deck Crafter's Collection 2026 Overview

The only Pokemon card featured in the October 2026 collection is Meowth ex from Pokemon TCG's Mega Evolution: Perfect Order expansion. Its Last-Ditch Catch Ability lets the player search their deck for a Supporter when Meowth ex is played from the hand onto the Bench, while Tuck Tail deals 60 damage before returning Meowth ex and all attached cards to the player's hand. The Trainer lineup includes Lillie's Determination, which normally replaces a player's hand with six new cards but draws eight when exactly six Prize cards remain, alongside staples such as Boss's Orders, Ultra Ball, Dawn, Rare Candy, Switch, and Air Balloon.

The Pokemon Company's tournament-focused positioning of the collection is also reflected in the recent competitive play meta. Published Masters Division decklists from the 2026 Pokemon World Championships feature Meowth ex, Lillie's Determination, Boss's Orders, Poke Pad, Ultra Ball, Special Red Card, Dawn, Hilda, Judge, Rare Candy, Air Balloon, Team Rocket's Petrel, Switch, and Pokegear 3.0 across multiple builds. That isn't to say that the upcoming collection is sufficient to build a complete competitive deck, but it does reinforce the notion that supporting tournament play is its primary purpose.

The Deck Crafter's Collection arrives during Pokemon's 30th anniversary year, but it is not officially part of the 30th Celebration lineup. The next release in that series is not far off, however, with Pokemon TCG's Espeon ex and Umbreon ex Battle Decks scheduled to launch on October 30.
