The late 90s are so hot right now. H2 Interactive has announced that the Nintendo 64 racer Re-Volt is coming to the Nintendo Switch on November 5th, 2026. Originally released by Acclaim, the game is a racing title featuring RC cars.
They’re not just dumping a ROM either. There are improvements coming, including a mini-map, the ability to carry more items and four-player split-screen. There’s also a physical version of the game planned, called the Nintendo Switch Re-Volt H2 Edition, which comes with a limited edition box, metal case, stickers, manual and two CD soundtracks. However, this doesn’t seem to ship to Australia, but for some reason it does to New Zealand.
Originally released in 1999, Re-Volt puts players behind the wheel of miniature radio-controlled cars, transforming familiar everyday locations into larger-than-life racing circuits. Players can choose from more than 28 RC cars and race through supermarkets, toy stores, museums and other environments where ordinary objects become challenging obstacles. A wide selection of pick-ups and weapons adds a tactical element to each race, allowing players to gain an edge over opponents and turn the tables at a decisive moment.
The Nintendo Switch and PlayStation versions introduce several improvements, including in-game help and a minimap. Players can now carry up to three items instead of one, opening up more tactical possibilities during races. Up to four players can also compete in local split-screen multiplayer on a single system.
