Epic Games声称其AI生成的Epic Games Store启动器比Steam更快
Epic Games Claims AI Vibe-Coded Launcher is Faster Than Steam
In a continued effort to push AI, Epic Games recently stated that its “vibe coded” launcher runs faster than Steam’s on launch in two key metrics. An official Tweet by the company revealed this news, followed by a subsequent press release.

Vibe coding is the act of letting AI create code for the user, often with minimal human input. According to recently published data:
- Cold Start to Store now only takes the Epic Games Store Launcher an average of 5.47 seconds compared to Steam’s 10.07 seconds.
- Restore from System Tray to Library supposedly takes the Epic Games Store Launcher an average of 0.36 seconds compared to Steam’s 0.42 seconds.
This data was evaluated by performing five tests across 13 different computers of varying hardware, with the “3 lowest-end machines” being excluded in the study.
Keywords Studio was the 3rd party company that completed these tests on behalf of Epic Games’ commission. It is worth noting that Epic Games has been heavily pushing their developers to use AI in gaming projects prior to this announcement.
Epic Games Launcher Preview is Available on Linux, Fortnite to Arrive in the Future

The official Epic Games Store vs. Steam comparison infographic is available above. Unfortunately, the full specs of the computer hardware configuration used for such tests are not readily available.
In the meantime, players can already download the preview for the new launcher. For the first time, the launcher is also available on Linux via the preview.
Epic Games is reworking Easy Anti-Cheat (also known as EAC) to help bring Fortnite over to Linux. No official release date for Fortnite on Linux was confirmed. The company merely said:
“Once it’s working with a critical mass of distro maintainers, we’ll bring Fortnite to Linux via the Epic Games Launcher.”
The Epic Games Launcher’s native Linux support requires the following specs:
- Ubuntu 22.04 LTS or newer
- Fedora 43 or newer
- Debian 12 or newer
Some games may require a compatibility layer, with players urged to check on a game-by-game basis.
