Deadlock 的 Steam 同时在线峰值超越 Team Fortress 2 历史纪录
Deadlock Passes Team Fortress 2’s All-Time Steam Player Record
Deadlock’s 262,145-player peak on 9 October passed Team Fortress 2’s all-time Steam record, set in July 2023, while the game stays in invite-only testing.
Deadlock passes Team Fortress 2’s all-time Steam player record
Deadlock, Valve’s still-unannounced MOBA, hit 262,145 concurrent players on Steam on 9 October 2026, passing Team Fortress 2’s all-time peak of 253,997.
The figure comes from the player-count charts for Deadlock on SteamDB, which track live Steam concurrency; every peak figure quoted around the milestone traces back to them. Valve has made no statement on it. The record it beat was set in July 2023, when Team Fortress 2’s Summer 2023 update, with new cosmetics, taunts and 14 community maps, pushed the 2007 shooter to its 253,997-player high.
The peak puts Deadlock third among Valve’s own games by all-time Steam concurrency, behind only Counter-Strike 2 at 1,862,531 and Dota 2 at 1,295,114. Team Fortress 2 now sits fourth at 253,997, with Left 4 Dead 2’s 162,399 from December 2013 rounding out the top five.
A record set during invite-only testing
What makes the number unusual is that Deadlock has never launched. It has been playable only through an invite-only playtest since August 2024, and its Steam page still lists the release date as to be announced. Its previous high was 171,490 during the initial 2024 surge, before the count settled back to six figures as Valve kept expanding the test.
The climb to the new peak came over roughly two weeks after the City Never Sleeps update arrived in late September 2026, which first lifted the count to 228,086. Valve is rolling out six new heroes two at a time, with players voting on which pair arrives next: Rat King went live on 2 October, Baba on 6 October, and the chess-themed wizard Solomon on 9 October.
That timing makes Solomon’s debut a convenient marker for the milestone, but the player-count data does not show that any single hero or feature drove the surge on its own. The count rose gradually across the fortnight rather than spiking on one day.
Peak concurrency is a snapshot of a single moment rather than a measure of a game’s overall player base, so the record says Deadlock drew more people at once than Team Fortress 2 ever has, not that it has more players overall.
