Tropico 7 pre-orders are now available, with publisher Kalypso Media offering a 10% discount alongside a free playable demo for Steam Next Fest.

Tropico 7 Demo Arrives Alongside 10% Pre-Order Discount

Kalypso has confirmed that both the Standard and Deluxe editions of Tropico 7 are available to pre-order with a 10% discount. The Standard Edition costs $49.49 instead of $54.99, while the Deluxe Edition is reduced from $69.99 to $62.99. The promotion is scheduled to run until the game’s January 28 launch.

Players purchasing the Deluxe Edition will also receive 48 hours of early access beginning January 26, alongside additional cosmetic items, including a new palace appearance, an outfit for El Presidente and several decorations. The package also includes the original soundtrack and a digital behind-the-scenes compendium.

Tropico 7 expands the series’ familiar combination of city construction, economic management and political maneuvering. New features include more flexible terrain modification, allowing players to reshape their islands, alongside expanded options for city planning and controlling the country’s political direction.

The campaign follows El Presidente’s rise from colonial governor to the ruler of an independent island nation. Players must balance competing political factions, manage the economy and introduce policies that influence how citizens respond to their leadership.

The free demo offers an opportunity to try the new building systems before committing to a purchase. Early player impressions on Reddit have praised the improved visuals, more natural-looking cities and changes to production chains, although some players have criticized the animated character portraits and raised questions about the game’s economy.

Tropico 7 Joins Steam Next Fest’s Growing Selection of Demos

The Tropico 7 demo coincides with Steam Next Fest, running October 19–26, during which players can try free demos of thousands of upcoming PC games. The event offers developers an opportunity to introduce their projects to new audiences while allowing players to experiment with games before release.

Among the more unusual offerings is There Are No Ghosts at the Grand, an ambitious adventure combining hotel restoration, supernatural mysteries and musical sequences. Our recent hands-on impressions highlighted its creativity and production values, while questioning whether its numerous gameplay ideas will ultimately come together.

Strategy fans can also check out Stronghold 4 during Steam Next Fest, which has expanded its demo with Skirmish Mode ahead of its December 7 release.

Developed by Gaming Minds Studios, Tropico 7 launches January 28, 2027, for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, Xbox on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and Nintendo Switch 2.
