Here on Nintendo Life, we first heard about the laid-back co-op farming sim Coral Island back in 2021, when it successfully hit its Kickstarter goal. Now, after overcoming some roadblocks, it seems it's finally getting a Nintendo release.

This announcement was shared this week during The MIX Fall Showcase, with Stairway Games and Balor Games officially confirming a Switch 2 version will release alongside the free "Kids Grow Up" 1.4 Update in winter 2026.

In this title, inspired by games such as Stardew Valley, you'll be able to experience this "cozy coastal life" either solo or with up to four friends in multiplayer.

Along the way, players can cultivate Starlet Town, protect local landscapes, dive beneath the waves to explore the magical Merfolk Kingdom, and even find love and build a family.

The 1.4 “Kids Grow Up” Update opens a new chapter for Coral Island. Players who choose to embrace parenthood can experience new milestones together as a family as their children grow and develop hobbies and interests of their own. The neighborhood kids are getting older, too, bringing exciting new stories and interactions to Starlet Town.

Farm. Decorate. Craft. Explore. Relax. Players shape their own future—and the future of Coral Island.

So, if this looks like a cosy farming sim you might be interested in, be on the lookout for its arrival on the Switch 2 soon.

Have you been holding out for this one? Have you already tried it out on another platform? Let us know in the comments.
