《RuneScape》叫停 Reignited 角色计划，Jagex 改推界面与早期关卡高清复刻

Ever since RuneScape unveiled the Reignited character type at RuneFest, the game’s devs have been on the back foot, facing veteran player pushback and outlining plans to rejigger its release in order to make long-standing players feel included. But now, Jagex has officially thrown in the towel and announced that Reignited will not move forward.

“Our goal is to see Runescape grow again, with returning players coming back and new players joining, but never at the expense of our existing community,” the studio writes. “It is clear that we missed the mark on this, and so we are not moving forward with it.”

Instead of the Reignited character type, December 2nd will instead bring the previously discussed adventure guide UI and remastering of the MMORPG’s early levels. Jagex will also still honor its promised 10 days’ worth of free subscription benefits for any new characters or for those players who haven’t been subscribers since June 2nd. And, of course, the rest of the 2026-2027 roadmap that Jagex put forth during RuneFest is still on schedule.

“RuneScape will always be built for and defined by its community,” the announcement closes. “So please keep letting us know when you feel we’re getting it wrong and shout with that same energy when you think we’re getting it right too.”

Naturally, many fans reacted with delight and even some surprise at Jagex’s volte face. Even some fans, who were on board with Reignited, agreed that the negativity and possibility of a playerbase schism was not worth it, while some self-admitted deep detractors promised that they do indeed love the MMORPG. So, ideally, this is as happy of an ending to the whole rigamarole as one can ask for.
