Hey everyone!
I'm not entirely sure if this is the right section/place to post this, so apologies if it belongs somewhere else.
I've been working on a small fan-made Pokémon game called PokeHiLo, and I finally feel like it's at a point where I can share it properly.
The idea is simple: you're shown two Pokémon and a question such as who is heavier, faster, has the higher BST, more HP, lower Pokédex number, etc. You choose the correct Pokémon and try to keep your streak going for as long as possible.
There are currently two main modes:
- Ranked – timed rounds, one mistake ends your run, and registered players can compete on the leaderboards.
- For Fun – no timer, wrong answers don't end the run, so it's much more relaxed.
The game includes Pokémon from all generations, a bunch of different stat/category questions, achievements, profiles, leaderboards, streak effects, sounds, and some other progression/cosmetic features.
You don't need an account to play. You can jump in as a guest, and creating an account is only needed if you want your stats, achievements and leaderboard scores saved.
I've also tried to make it work well on both desktop and mobile.
You can play it here:

It's still a project I'm actively improving, so I'd genuinely appreciate any feedback—especially if you find bugs, weird Pokémon data, balancing issues, or just have ideas for features that would make it more fun.
Hope some of you enjoy it!

I had some time to kill today, so I ended up pushing a pretty big batch of updates to PokeHiLo.
- Added a Weekly leaderboard alongside the existing leaderboard system.
- Added Cosmetic Points, which can be earned through regular activity and spent on profile cosmetics.
- Expanded Personalisation with more Profile Icons, new Name Colors, and Profile Frames.
- Added several Daily Chest-exclusive cosmetics.
- Added Daily Sort, a daily Pokémon ordering puzzle where everyone gets the same challenge and successful completion rewards a Cosmetic Point.
- Improved round flow and general responsiveness across the game.
- Added a number of smaller UI, mobile, profile and stability improvements throughout the site.
Still plenty more I want to add, so feedback and suggestions are always appreciated.
Small update for anyone following development: Alpha 0.8 – Mini Companion Update is now live! You can collect eggs through the gacha machine, hatch and level up Pokémon, evolve them, find Shinies and Legendaries, nickname/equip your favourites, unlock new achievements, and show off your companions on leaderboards and trainer profiles.
This comes right after Alpha 0.7, which introduced the new Daily Puzzle improvements, Puzzle Master achievements, Discord/community features, more cosmetics, and a bunch of backend/performance work.
As always, feedback and bug reports are very appreciated!
Not a bad project! I played a few rounds since I have time to kill, and I gotta say, the presentation was really good. My one complaint would be that the results after selecting an answer dont stay up long enough. I dont need them to be manual or crazy long, but just enough for someone to both read and understand what they read. Maybe just a few extra secconds would do. That, and maybe add a few more question types too. Stats and dex numbers are great, but they aren't everything. Again, great project!

Thanks a lot, really appreciate the feedback!
Just a heads-up: if you want more time to read the result after each round, you can disable auto-advance in the settings below the game. That way, the game only moves on when you're ready.
As for the question types, the game intentionally starts off fairly simple. The first few rounds mostly use easier categories, and more question categories like XP yield, base friendship, total move pool etc. gradually get introduced as your streak gets higher, so the variety opens up the further you get.
Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks again for giving it a try!
Hey everyone! It's been a little while since my Alpha 0.8 update here, and quite a lot has changed since then, so I wanted to share where PokeHiLo is now.
The biggest addition is Pokemon Trivia, PokeHiLo's second main game mode alongside Higher or Lower. It's an endless timed quiz with lifelines, covering the main games, anime, movies, TCG, Pokemon GO, and more. There are 50:50, skip-question, and time-freeze lifelines to help keep your run going, along with leaderboards and achievements.
Mini Companions have expanded too. You can now trade with other players and send teams on expeditions, giving you more to do with the Pokemon you've been collecting since the original Mini update.
There's also a live Haunted Harvest Halloween event, where you can earn Candy, collect costumed Minis and seasonal cosmetics, and work towards completing a picture puzzle. The event is time-limited, so now's a good time to check it out if you enjoy collecting!
Alongside those additions, I've been making interface and mobile improvements and fixing issues reported by players.
PokeHiLo is still in alpha and has only been live for about a month. I'm continuing to build it while people play, and feedback from active players has been helping shape the updates.
If you last tried it around 0.8, I'd love to hear how it feels now. And if you're trying it for the first time, you can play directly in your browser on desktop or mobile, with no account needed to try the main gameplay.
Thanks to everyone who's given it a go so far! If you find any bugs, balancing issues, or anything that feels confusing, please let me know.
