Frontier Developments has released the Anaconda Mk II Update for Elite Dangerous, adding the Faulcon DeLacy Anaconda Mk II through ARX Early Access, three ARX pre-built bundles, a new megaship operation, and a broad ship balance pass. The full list appears in the Anaconda Mk II update announcement.

Frontier Developments calls the Anaconda Mk II a modern evolution of the Anaconda. The ship retains the power, versatility, and commanding presence of the original while introducing an all-new design and improved visibility. It is available now via ARX Early Access, which uses Elite Dangerous’ premium currency ARX.

The ship launches with three new modules: Mk II Ablative Armour, Mk II Mining Volley Repeater, and Mk II Cargo Racks. Those module names signal a mining-oriented loadout, though their exact sizes and performance specifications are not listed.

Anaconda Mk II ARX bundles and costs

Frontier Developments has listed three pre-built vessel bundles for the Anaconda Mk.II. The Standard tier costs 19,020 ARX and includes the Standard Anaconda Mk.II and the Owners Club Decal.

The Stellar tier costs 38,000 ARX and includes the Eunectes Ship Kit, Resurgent Ochre Paintjob, and Owners Club Decal. The Galactic tier costs 69,000 ARX and includes all Stellar content plus the Zenith Ship Kit, 4x Faulcon Paintjob variants, Ember Green Holo-Kit Pack, and Owners Club Decal.

The gap between Standard and Stellar is 18,980 ARX. For that amount, the Stellar tier moves beyond the base ship and decal into a named ship kit and a paintjob. The gap between Stellar and Galactic is 31,000 ARX, which adds the second ship kit, four paint variants, and the Ember Green Holo-Kit Pack. The Galactic tier adds only cosmetic items, and the announcement lists no gameplay module differences between the three tiers.

No USD conversion for ARX is given.

Found Adrift operation and other additions

The update also adds a new Operation called Found Adrift. An abandoned megaship carrying a high value asset has reappeared, and players navigate the wreck to secure the item before other scavengers do. No payout or exact asset is listed.

The cutting tool’s tracking also receives improvements, though the exact tracking behavior is not spelled out.

Frontier Developments also added eight ships to various AI spawn buckets: Python Mk II, Type-8 Transporter, Mandalay, Cobra Mk V, Corsair, Panther Mk II, Type-11 Prospector, and Caspian Explorer. Adding these ships means the newer hulls can appear in NPC traffic, mission encounters, or system security roles depending on the bucket. Which buckets each ship enters is not specified, only that they were added.

Two issue tracker fixes are included. Issue ID 86375 resolved an engineering Mk II Cargo Racks rounding error. Issue ID 85560 resolved a problem where Conflict Zones could fail to end as expected. Rounding errors can change engineered cargo rack stats in small but noticeable ways, and a Conflict Zone that fails to end can leave players waiting or force a reset.

The update also includes a set of bug fixes. They cover on-foot wing UI display, the final wave of on-foot AI at the Reclamation Point Operation, New Starter Systems permits granted when ranking up in CQC, Powerplay Modules unlocking at the required rank, debug text on Mission Giver details for Feudal government with Retreat pending state, Squadron Leader boards Operations category, Planetary Mining resources in the FSS Info Panel, destination lock for Planetary Ring Hotspots, on-foot mining UI text overlap with the Rhino’s mining rigs, a disconnect when jettisoning cargo while collecting minerals from a Rhino mining rig, Megaship LoD transitions on side vents, bloom brightness on certain objects, light bleeding from Megaship hangars, spawn cupboard hitcheck so AI no longer clips through doors, Rhino bundle lighting in Store previews, Edmund Mahon Powerplay decals dropping below intended detail, Powerplay decals clashing with paintjobs, and Archon Delaine and Jerome Archer Powerplay decals quality.

Ship rebalance: ten hulls change

The balance pass covers ten ships. Mandalay’s standard jump range increases to about 95 Ly, and Caspian Explorer’s standard jump range increases to about 90 Ly. For the Asp Scout, Frontier Developments added 1 Utility Slot, reduced mass from 150 to 140, increased max speed from 110 to 220, increased max boost speed from 300 to 360, increased forward acceleration from 35 to 40, increased reverse acceleration from 20 to 30, increased yaw rate from 15 to 18, reduced pitch acceleration from 0.15 to 0.1, and reduced yaw acceleration from 0.25 to 0.12.

Sidewinder Mk I base shield increases from 40 to 55, with flight model adjustments and higher pitch and yaw rates. Eagle Mk II base shield increases from 60 to 80. Viper Mk IV base shield increases from 150 to 160, max speed from 175 to 180, max boost speed from 340 to 360, and gains flight model adjustments with higher pitch and yaw rates.

Type-6 Transporter gains 1 Size 6 internal slot and its base shield rises from 90 to 125. Type-7 Transporter gains 1 Size 7 internal slot, mass drops from 350 to 300, heat capacity rises from 226 to 232, and minimum and maximum heat dissipation increase. Imperial Clipper gains 1 Size 7 internal slot, fuel tank size increases from 4 to 5, mass drops from 400 to 350, and base shield rises from 180 to 200. Federal Dropship gains 1 Size 6 internal slot, mass drops from 580 to 500, and max speed rises from 100 to 160.

The table omits changes that the announcement listed without before and after figures, such as added Utility Slots and internal slot additions, but those appear in the text above.

What the balance pass means for players

The Asp Scout’s maximum speed doubles from 110 to 220 m/s, and its boost speed rises from 300 to 360 m/s. A faster Asp Scout can complete early missions, escape losing fights, and cover ground more quickly. The reduced pitch and yaw acceleration figures, from 0.15 to 0.1 and from 0.25 to 0.12 respectively, mean the hull reaches higher straight-line speed but turns less sharply under sustained input. The added Utility Slot gives commanders another defensive or utility module.

The Federal Dropship’s mass falls from 580 to 500 while it gains a Size 6 internal slot and a max speed increase from 100 to 160. Lower mass supports better thruster performance and jump behavior, while a Size 6 internal slot opens more cargo or hull reinforcement options. The max speed increase reduces one of the ship’s weaknesses in combat and mission running.

For the Type-6 Transporter, Type-7 Transporter, and Imperial Clipper, the added internal slots are the clearest economic upgrade. Type-6 gains a Size 6 internal slot and a base shield increase from 90 to 125. Type-7 gains a Size 7 internal slot, mass reduction, and heat improvements. Imperial Clipper gains a Size 7 internal slot, a larger fuel tank, lower mass, and stronger shields. More internal slots mean more cargo racks, passenger cabins, hull reinforcement packages, or other module options without giving up existing capability. The shield increases also improve survivability in trade and mining builds.

What the announcement does not state

Whether the Anaconda Mk II will later be earnable or purchasable with in-game credits is not stated; the only pricing path named is ARX Early Access. The exact module sizes and specs for the Mk II Ablative Armour, Mk II Mining Volley Repeater, and Mk II Cargo Racks are not listed. No USD price conversion for the ARX amounts is provided. It is also unclear whether the balance changes affect the Legacy console versions.

A premium ship arrives next to a mid-tier buff pass

The Anaconda Mk II is a paid early-access release aimed at commanders who want a new Faulcon DeLacy hull immediately. Its new modules, the Mk II Mining Volley Repeater and Mk II Cargo Racks, point toward mining and hauling, while Mk II Ablative Armour suggests a defensive option. At the same time, the free balance pass targets older mid-tier hulls that often sit outside the top of the meta. The Asp Scout, Federal Dropship, Type-6, Type-7, and Imperial Clipper all receive changes that make them more viable for early and mid-game progress.

For players who do not buy the new ship, the balance pass changes early progression and trade efficiency through a faster Asp Scout, a lighter Federal Dropship with a new Size 6 internal slot, and extra internal space on the Type-6, Type-7, and Imperial Clipper. For players who buy the Anaconda Mk II, the bundle pricing separates the functional ship purchase from cosmetic additions. The Standard tier supplies the ship and decal, while the Stellar and Galactic tiers add ship kits, paintjobs, and holo-kit items.

ARX Early Access means the Anaconda Mk II enters the game through the premium currency track before any wider release path is disclosed. A game like No Man’s Sky ships broad exploration and survival additions in one patch, but Elite Dangerous pairs new premium ship content with a free balance pass in the same patch, so not every player receives the new ship at the same time.
