All ten episodes of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 are now available for streaming on Netflix, CD PROJEKT RED and Japanese animation studio TRIGGER announced today. Originally, there wasn't supposed to be a second season, but the studios eventually reconsidered based on the excellent reception of the first season.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 follows a fresh cast of characters, each driven by distinct aspirations, anxieties, and personal objectives. This standalone series promises to take viewers further into Night City's brutal, chaotic landscape than ever before, offering fresh perspectives on existence in this dystopian world. The narrative weaves together the journeys of an experienced edgerunner, a film enthusiast newcomer, a modification-addicted troublemaker, and a netrunner affiliated with Snake Nation, crafting an unfiltered and poignant story centered on vengeance and redemption.

Kai Ikarashi directs this new chapter, with Kanno Ichigo serving as Lead Character Designer. Collaborators returning to the project include Masahiko Otsuka and Hugo Award-winning Bartosz Sztybor, who functions as showrunner, story writer, and producer.

Gamers can also look forward to a new Cyberpunk 2077 patch, which will update the game to version 2.5. It's set to launch in two days, on October 22, across most platforms except the Nintendo Switch 2 (which will follow later). The free update will focus on adding various new items and features to the game, including content inspired by Edgerunners 2. More information will be shared by CD Projekt RED in a special episode of REDstreams, offering a first look at what's coming to Cyberpunk 2077. The episode will air tomorrow at 5 PM CEST on Twitch, YouTube, and Steam, and fans can expect the official patch notes to drop afterward.

As readers might remember, the release of the original Edgerunners season helped Cyberpunk 2077 get back on its feet after the problematic launch. The Polish studio is certainly hoping for another boost in player numbers and sales with Edgerunners 2.

In other Cyberpunk 2077 news, a live action movie adaptation is officially in development at Paramount Pictures, and we already know it won't be a direct adaptation of the game.
