Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 launches today, October 14, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and it is out now on all three platforms. At 17:50 UTC, Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox each listed the standard $24.99 price with no remaining launch discount.
What Time Did Boltgun 2 Release?
The game unlocked at 4:00 p.m. UTC on October 14. The US PlayStation Store listed that release time explicitly, and the Xbox product page carried the same 16:00 UTC release date. That converts to:
| US time zone | Launch time |
|---|---|
| Pacific Daylight Time | 9:00 a.m. PDT |
| Mountain Daylight Time | 10:00 a.m. MDT |
| Central Daylight Time | 11:00 a.m. CDT |
| Eastern Daylight Time | 12:00 p.m. EDT |
Steam reports the game as released on the October 14 date and no longer shows a countdown. Auroch Digital’s page and FAQ both confirm the game is out now.
How Much Does Boltgun 2 Cost?
The standard US price is $24.99 on all three stores. The 10% preorder discount at $22.49 ended at launch, and at the 17:50 UTC check every store listed the full $24.99.
| Store | Standard price | Price at 17:50 UTC | Important condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Steam | $24.99 | $24.99 | 10% preorder discount ended; now full price |
| PlayStation 5 | $24.99 | $24.99 | 10% PlayStation Plus offer ended at 4:00 p.m. UTC; PlayStation Plus Premium members get a 1-hour trial |
| Xbox Series X|S | $24.99 | $24.99 | Full price; no discount shown |
Prices can still change after launch. Confirm the final checkout price in your own store. On PlayStation, the reduced price was tied to PlayStation Plus, and the current full price applies whether or not you subscribe.
What Platforms Is Boltgun 2 On?
Auroch Digital’s official page lists PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S for October 14. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is confirmed to launch shortly after the other platforms, but no exact Switch 2 date has been posted.
| Platform | October 14 status | Store/version note |
|---|---|---|
| PC | Out now | Steam; demo available on the same product page |
| PlayStation 5 | Out now | PS5 version only on the listed US product page |
| Xbox Series X|S | Out now | Optimized for Series X|S; single-player listing |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Not out yet | Confirmed to follow shortly after; date UNKNOWN |
| PS4 / Xbox One / original Switch | Not announced for launch | Do not assume backward versions from the first game |
The official FAQ confirms the release is digital-only and that no physical version is planned at the moment.
Is Boltgun 2 on Game Pass?
No official source checked for this article announced Boltgun 2 as a Game Pass launch title. The Xbox store sells the game directly, and GamerHeadlines’ October 12–16 Xbox roundup listed the week’s separate day-one Game Pass additions without including Boltgun 2.
That statement covers launch-day availability only. If subscription access is the deciding factor, wait for an explicit Xbox or publisher announcement.
What Changes From the First Boltgun?
Boltgun 2 follows directly from the ending of Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun and remains a single-player first-person shooter. The sequel has two playable characters: returning Ultramarine Malum Caedo and new Sister of Battle Nyra Veyrath. Each has a distinct set of abilities, weapons, and play style.
The campaign now branches, with unique levels on different paths. Official store descriptions also list new enemies, new weapons, new locations, and a navigation guide. This launch article reports those confirmed product features and does not review the game.
Should You Buy Now or Wait?
Buy now if all three conditions fit: you want the digital PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X|S version; the standard $24.99 price works for you; and you are comfortable buying a single-player sequel without a GamerHeadlines hands-on verdict. The 10% launch discount has ended, so $24.99 is the current price on every store.
Wait if you need the Nintendo Switch 2 version, a physical copy, Game Pass access, or independent testing of performance and campaign quality. The Switch 2 date remains unconfirmed, the developer says no physical release is currently planned, and this launch article does not substitute for a Review.
