Infinity Ward have announced that the highly anticipated DMZ extraction mode will be arriving in early access ahead of Modern Warfare 4‘s full launch.
The devs have been revealing the mode in the run-up to the game’s October 23 launch, detailing the Hajin map, progression, the Forward Operating Base, the Bounty system, and more. In a tweet on October 9, they announced that DMZ Early Access begins on October 20.
An October 9 blog confirmed that anyone who digitally pre-orders any Modern Warfare 4 edition, regardless of platform, will be able to play “all of DMZ” on Tuesday, October 20 — three days before launch.
They haven’t revealed what time it drops yet, but expect that to be confirmed in the run-up to launch.
This should offer a huge head start in the mode, allowing you to grind through the missions, earn cash, unlock new Operator Traits, and upgrade your FOB before multiplayer arrives.
This comes alongside Modern Warfare 4 Campaign Early Access, where anyone who pre-orders the game digitally can play the single-player on Friday, October 23.
The full Modern Warfare 4 release timeline is as follows:

Alongside DMZ and Campaign Early Access, pre-ordering the game grants the Hunter Killer Operator skin and Inner Circle M4 Blueprint, which has a unique variant that only Xbox players can see.
