If you want to replay GTA 5 before GTA 6 comes out via your PS Plus Extra subscription, you'll need to get a move on.
The open worlder from Rockstar has been confirmed as leaving the service two days before GTA 6 comes out, on 17th November 2026.
PS5 owners are actually receiving a system notification about the expiration date, floating the idea to members of playing GTA 5 before the sixth numbered instalment launches. The options you get are to either pre-order GTA 6 or play GTA 5, or I presume you can just back out of the screen.
Either way, we now know GTA 5 will be taken off PS Plus Extra on 17th November.
The thing is, though, it's almost certainly going to come back at some point. The two most recent Rockstar titles, GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, are constantly added to PS Plus Extra for short stints and then taken off the service.
For example, since December 2023, GTA 5 has been on PS Plus Extra three times, and Red Dead Redemption 2 is also currently on its third cycle.
When the main batch of October 2026 game additions come out, on 20th October 2026, we'll learn what other PS5, PS4 titles are due to leave PS Plus Extra in November.

Liam grew up with a PlayStation controller in his hands and a love for Metal Gear Solid. Nowadays, he's found playing the latest and greatest PS5 games as well as supporting Derby County. That last detail is his downfall.
