Moon Studios has confirmed that No Rest for the Wicked will leave early access with its version 1.0 launch in March 2027 on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.

The studio revealed the date in the latest edition of its Wicked Inside showcase, a developer broadcast held on 16 October. The 1.0 update had previously been planned for an October 2026 PS5 release. Xbox Series and Switch 2 versions will follow at a later point, which the studio has not yet dated.

A bigger game at launch

The launch version also carries a large amount of new content. The studio’s press release lists fresh areas to explore, foes organised into factions beyond any in the game so far, additional bosses, a reworked loot setup, changes to combat, a batch of convenience fixes and attention to how the game runs on PS5. The studio said in its showcase that all of this forms part of the launch release. It did not put a figure on how much material that adds.

The class system replaces attributes entirely

The most significant change is a redesign of progression. The old attribute system, which previously pushed players towards set playstyles, is being removed. Instead, the equipped weapon determines a player’s class, with 24 classes available and traits carried between them. Moon Studios says there are 362 traits across those classes, so the combinations open up considerably once a second weapon enters the mix.

Isola Sacra, the island setting where players act as a Cerim of a holy order fighting the Pestilence, will also gain six factions at 1.0, including the Severed Hand assassins, the knightly Sacrament Guard and the Unspoken. Each faction brings its own questline with new traits, unique vendors and additional content the studio has not detailed.

The road to 1.0

No Rest for the Wicked has been in early access on PC via Steam since 18 April 2024, which makes the 1.0 launch arrive roughly three years after the game first became playable. The Ori developer’s move into action RPGs has therefore had a long runway. In March 2027, the game early access players on PC have been playing becomes a finished release, and PS5 owners join them for the first time.
