Ubisoft has announced that Rainbow Six Mobile is shutting down, and it didn’t have a very long life. The game soft-launched in 2023, but properly rolled out for everyone back in February 2026. It will shut down on January 16, 2027, so it will have been online for less than a year in its full state for everyone.

“‘We are proud of the passion, creativity, and dedication our team has put into the game,” Ubisoft said. “One of the greatest parts of this adventure has been getting to experience it alongside you. We’ve loved seeing the memes, videos, strategies, tournaments, impossible plays, and all the countless moments that happened because you were here.”

The developers are going to move on to “other long-term strategic projects,” but Ubisoft did not say what these may be. The studio will share more details on the game’s final days in the coming weeks.

“We are truly grateful to everyone who has played our game,” the developers said.

Rainbow Six Mobile pitched itself as a mobile version of the extremely popular Rainbow Six Siege, which continues to crush it more than a decade after release. The next Rainbow Six game is Rainbow Six Tactics, and it’s coming next year.

It’s been a bumpy year for Ubisoft, as the company created a new organizational structure by way of its partnership with Tencent. As part of this, Ubisoft enacted mass layoffs, closed studios, and cancelled games.
