Capcom has announced that the Monster Hunter Wilds Switch 2 prologue demo will launch on October 19, giving players an early look at the opening of the action RPG ahead of its December 4 release on Nintendo’s console. The demo will support save data transfer to the full game and local multiplayer with friends, although online multiplayer will not be available.
The Monster Hunter Wilds Switch 2 prologue demo lets players experience the beginning of the story, with progress saved in the demo carrying over to the full version. Players will also be able to hunt together through local play, but those looking to team up online will need to wait for the full release.
Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4, 2026. The version will include all post-launch title updates released for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PC versions, alongside online cross-platform multiplayer and local wireless cooperative play.
