Rockstar drops the GTA 6 launch trailer, a month out from launch

Rockstar Games has released the Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer, captured entirely in-game on a PlayStation 5, with the game confirmed for 19 November 2026. The trailer went up overnight on Rockstar’s official YouTube channel on 15 October 2026, roughly five weeks before launch.

The video’s description is blunt about what it shows: “This trailer was captured entirely in-game from a PlayStation 5. Grand Theft Auto VI arrives November 19.” There is no Australian price or edition detail in that description, and no PC version is confirmed, so PlayStation 5 remains the only platform Rockstar has named for launch.

A new Justice track, and Jason and Lucia up close

The trailer debuts “Flower in a Hurricane”, a new standalone single from Justice, the electronic duo composing the game’s original score, featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Rockstar says the track also appears on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the official soundtrack, which is available to pre-save on streaming services and pre-order on vinyl or CD.

It also gives the clearest story detail yet on the two protagonists. Jason opens by admitting he “ran into some trouble” during his time in the army, and the trailer confirms Lucia will wear an ankle tag. There is a phone call from Lucia in prison, quick scenes of supporting characters Raul and Cal, and footage that builds on missions first shown in the earlier Extended Look, including a bank vault flown part-way into a building by helicopter.

PlayStation is all over it

PlayStation branding appears throughout the trailer, which suggests how deep Sony’s marketing agreement with the year’s biggest launch goes. Whether the capture came from a base PS5 or a PS5 Pro is not stated, and Rockstar has not said whether the game gets Pro enhancements.

The trailer arrives after a delay to 19 November 2026 and a month of near-weekly marketing drops from Rockstar, including an Extended Look, a DualSense controller and the soundtrack album reveal. Australian pricing for Grand Theft Auto VI has not yet been confirmed.
