新工作室专攻入选日本经产省IP360出海扶持计划的新格斗IP,显示厂商借政策红利扩充开发产能与海外布局。
Arc System Works will be creating a new studio in Shinjuku called Studio “TAKUMI”. The studio itself will be dedicated to handle a new fighting game IP that is selected by the Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s “IP360” project subsidy program. The program itself has the intent of strengthening sales of Japanese properties overseas. IP360’s goal is to increase overseas sales of Japanese content to 20 trillion yen by 2033. The content is aimed to be of specifically in the Japanese form of expression. Other companies such as Koei Tecmo, Sega and Konami, are on this list with at least 7 video games that are a part of the initiative. Virtua Fighter Crossroads is one of those projects, for instance.
The studio is meant to deliver “ultimate excitement” to players worldwide and a “communicative collaboration hub” for worldwide reach. Arc System Works will be going full steam ahead for creator recruitment to become founding members. More information on that and how to apply to the positions will be here on the company page.
Arc System Works itself has several fighting game franchises on the go such as Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls, Guilty Gear, Dragonball FighterZ, and Granblue Fantasy Versus. In addition to this, Arc System Works is a publisher to other fighting game titles such as HunterXHunter: NenxImpact, Melty Blood, and Under Night In Birth 2. To see the company attempt to bring about another fighting game within their stable within a brand new arm could bring about that “ultimate excitement” that we all could possibly expect. As to what this game could be is still to be determined.
Studio Takumi will be opening on November 2 at Urban Center Shinjuku, 2-5-10 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo.
