Also yeah, it's a GenAI nightmare and also incredibly full of microtransactions, which considering this is a paid game and not free to play like Deathverse or the original Let It Die, it's even more insulting. Avoid.

Man, brutal. I'm avoiding it for AI inclusion reasons, but similar to Deathverse I'm just not all that interested. Let it Die is awesome and has wicked good aesthetics, but I have to imagine these two attempts to get a second game going in parallel might put the series (if not the studios) on ice. I just hope the offline version of Let it Die gets to release first.

They could have been in less of a tough spot had the game not been full of GenAI garbage.

I'm sure there are many talented people on the project, many of whom did not make the decisions to go down such a heavy GenAI road, but it's hard for me to have much sympathy overall. Reap what you sow.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was mostly to do with people not knowing it was coming out rather than the AI stuff.

It's a paid sequel full of AI slop with a bunch of MTX speaking as a fan of the first game (despite the jank) I can't believe it's worse than the first have that was F2P with MTX (a fair trade) made by human hands.

I remember randomly downloading Deathverse, and ended up getting all the trophies and playing the game until the servers got shut off. It was incredibly weird to play but I genuinely enjoyed it, and the community around it. Watching the stream where the dev and their Queen B vtuber went through community memories and announced that the game would be retooled into something new that combined Deathverse and Let It Die into something new I remember thinking there's no way that'll actually happen, it'll be quietly cancelled or never heard from again. And now we're here I think I would have preferred that. Genuinely depressing.

As a huge fan of the original, I'm surprised It's that high. Based on the demo it's a downgrade in basically every way imaginable. Then there's the AI nonsense and apparently the monetization is a mess as well.

Right but in this case Suda literally isn't involved at all. It's not his company making the game, he's not producing it, he has nothing to do with it. Grasshopper and Supertrick Games are two different companies now.

About a quarter of the reviews (across all languages) mention AI. Some people actually mention AI to say they support it.. AI socialism or something.
