A few days ago, Steam set a new record with over 42 million players online at once. To be exact, it hit 43,328,780 players. Steam set its last record of over 42 million players in January 2026. This means that it took almost eight months to beat that mark.

Steam 43 million concurrent

Let’s now take a look at the Top 20 Most Played Games in the last 24 hours.

Top 20 most played steam games

Counter-Strike 2 leads the list of the most played games on Steam, with 1,404,227 players online at the time of the screenshot. Dota 2 comes next with 1,034,493 players. PUBG: Battlegrounds takes third place with 713,683 players.

AION 2 ranks fourth with 392,300 players, while Apex Legends sits in fifth place with 233,682. Deadlock, FiveM, and WARDOGS follow. Valheim takes ninth place, and Bongo Cat rounds out the top ten with 186,709 players.

ARC Raiders ranks 11th, followed by UBERMOSH and Delta Force. Rust takes 14th place, while The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered ranks 15th. Wallpaper Engine, The Outlast Trials, and Stardew Valley fill the next three spots.

Slay the Spire 2 takes 19th place with 102,500 players. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege closes the list with 93,174 players online.

The list shows a wide mix of games. Big names like Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and PUBG still draw large crowds. Yet newer games and smaller hits also find a place among Steam’s most played titles. Bongo Cat stands out in the top ten, while Wallpaper Engine shows that not every popular Steam title is a game in the usual sense.
