Stage Tour Pre-Orders Are Now Live
RedOctane Games has opened digital pre-orders for the music game, which launches December 10 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Stage Tour pre-orders cost $35.99, a 10% discount from the standard $39.99 price. The rhythm game comeback has often come with an expensive catch: finding an instrument controller that works. Stage Tour is trying to lower that barrier.
Players will not need a guitar controller to join in. New Arcade 4-Lane and 5-Lane chart types are designed for standard gamepads and gaming keyboards, and every launch song can be played with those controls across all difficulty levels.
Arcade charts combine parts from guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and other instruments into a single note track. It is a practical way to make the music playable without turning a spare room into a museum of plastic guitars. Players with compatible older instruments can use those too. RedOctane says the PC version supports more than 50 guitar controllers and 20 drum kits, including select gear from the Guitar Hero and Rock Band generations. Console compatibility covers select instruments from current and previous generations.
The launch setlist will include more than 90 songs spanning six decades, with artists including The Rolling Stones, Metallica, Radiohead, The Cure, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mötley Crüe, Paramore, and Olivia Rodrigo. The game supports up to four players locally or online, including cross-platform multiplayer, with different supported instruments and control methods mixed within a band.
Alongside Quickplay and Practice Mode, Stage Tour includes accuracy-focused Judgements and Karaoke. Its Solo Tour campaign takes a roguelite approach, sending players from small stages toward sold-out arenas. Stars earned along the way can buy effect pedals and consumables that modify gameplay, but failing a song sends the player back to the start of the run.
