A City on the Brink of Destruction Awaits in Usual June

Usual June is bringing its supernatural adventure to Xbox next year, with developer FINJI confirming that the game will launch on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC on January 20, 2027. The announcement arrived with a new trailer showcased at The MIX Showcase.

Set in the mysterious city of Fen Harbor, Usual June follows June as she fights monsters, talks to ghosts, and investigates a threat that could destroy the entire city. Players will explore unusual locations, including secret laboratories, buried tunnels, haunted observatories, and abandoned train stations, alongside a mysterious otherworld.

Combat is another major part of the adventure. Players can dash, dodge, parry, and unleash powerful special moves while adapting to different enemies. June can equip items and customize her loadout to change her fighting style, while leveling up unlocks new abilities. However, these powers come with a cost that players will have to discover themselves.

Beyond combat, the game features 25 characters who can help June uncover Fen Harbor’s secrets. Players must work with both the living and the dead, using the memories of ghosts and the living’s ability to interact with objects to piece together the mystery before time runs out.

FINJI, known for publishing TUNIC and Night in the Woods, is developing the game under creative director Adam Saltsman, with contributions from writers David Pinckney and BAFTA-winning writer Cara Ellison.

Usual June launches on January 20, 2027, for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and PC and Mac via Steam. Players can wishlist the game on Steam and try the demo ahead of release.
