《英雄联盟》经典模式将于2027年1月关闭，运营仅三个月

Apparently, there just wasn’t that much of an appetite to relive the old League of Legends. After Riot Games announced the release of a classic mode for July, the studio is going to wrap up LoL Classic, letting the mode remain playable until the end of the current season and then close it up in January 2027.

“We’ve seen a lot of players have fun revisiting the olden days with Classic. At this point though, most have gone back to other parts of League,” the studio writes. “We’ll […] put Classic back in the box for now, with the goal of bringing it back, likely as an event mode with adjustments and additions.”

In the meantime, refunds are being issues on Classic-specific content that will no longer be used, while the next battle pass for the mode will only offer a free track. The mode’s store will also only contain characters, runes, and rune pages. Adjustments to queue windows are also being made, though players are being warned that match wait times may be longer as a result.

As Riot pointed out, Classic itself isn’t being nuked from orbit wholesale, but the devs do admit that they need to approach its eventual return differently. “There’s more we’re going to share in the future about what we learned from this run. That includes where we think we got Classic right, where we could have gone more classic, and where sticking too closely to the past may have held the experience back,” Riot writes. “Please continue to let us know what you love and don’t love about Classic. Your feedback is a vital part of how we make our games and is always appreciated.”
