Usual June Is Launching in January 2027
FINJI has announced a new release date for Usual June, pushing the third-person action-adventure game to January 20, 2027. The studio, known for games like Overland and Canabalt, says the extra development time will help the team polish the experience before players step into the mysterious world of Fen Harbor.
Alongside the announcement, FINJI has released a new trailer during The Cozy After Dark Steam event, offering another look at the game’s gameplay and strange supernatural setting.
In a statement, studio co-founders Adam and Bekah Saltsman explained that the delay will give the team more time to ensure the launch version meets its expectations. While they jokingly referenced GTA 6 as a possible excuse, they stressed that their real priority is delivering the best possible experience and giving the talented people behind the project the launch it deserves.
In Usual June, players will explore a world filled with secret laboratories, buried tunnels, haunted observatories, and other unusual locations. Combat plays a major role, featuring fast-paced encounters and abilities that unlock as players earn experience. However, these new powers come with consequences that players will have to discover themselves.
The mystery surrounding Fen Harbor goes beyond combat. Players will interact with 25 characters, using the photographic memories of the dead and the ability of the living to interact with physical objects to uncover what is happening before time runs out.
Usual June will launch on PC via Steam on January 20, 2027. Players can already wishlist the game and try its demo while waiting for release.
Although the delay means a longer wait, the additional time could help FINJI deliver a more polished adventure. With its supernatural mysteries and unusual investigative mechanics, this title is certainly one to keep on your radar.
