The tales of Tales Of remasters continue as Bandai Namco has now released Tales Of Eternia Remastered.

Tales Of Eternia is the third game in the series, and the is the second and final title in the series to launch on the PS1.

The remaster brings in a new Graphics Mode and SFX Mode where players can choose to play with the remastered visuals and sound effects, or play how it was presented originally.

Tales Of Eternia Remastered also brings quality-of-life improvements including Boost (adjust experience gain and encounter frequency), togglable destination icons (if you can believe it, old games don’t point where you need to go so you have to pay attention), and the high-speed mode when enabling auto-mode mid-battle. Options for Battle Retry and Quick Recovery are available.

For those interested to make things harder instead, there is an Extreme difficulty mode available straight away. A new difficulty level, Unknown, can be unlocked after completing the game.

In Tales Of Eternia, protagonist Reid and his friend Farah met a mysterious girl named Meredy, and from there, an adventure where the party must stop from two worlds literally colliding as part of the “Grand Fall” kicks off as they venture between the two worlds, see the different cultures and values off the people, and hopefully save the worlds.

Tales Of Eternia Remastered is part of the ongoing Remastered Project, an initiative as part of the Tales Of 30th anniversary. As of the time of writing, five Tales Of games have been remastered and available on modern platforms: Tales Of Graces F, Tales Of Xillia, Tales Of Berseria and now Tales Of Eternia.

Tales Of Arise, the latest entry in the series, is also available on all modern platforms.

So six of the 17 mainline titles in the Tales Of series can be accessed through modern means. Seven if you count Tales Of Zestiria, which is an eighth-generation console title that is compatible with modern ninth-generation consoles, though it is not available on Switch, yet.

Tales Of Eternia Remastered is out now on PS4, PS5, PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
