The Nuzlomizer is a Firered Romhack that makes for the best, optimized and balanced for nuzlocking randomizer experience. Plain and simple.

The Nuzlomizer has: (Read the entire post for all the details)​

• A well-crafted randomization of the game based on manual evaluation of every Pokemon, moveset, ability and item in the game for power balancing. NO boring level up movesets on enemy Pokemon, NO superficial BST-based randomization. The Nuzlomizer is its own adventure, honed for fun from the ground up.
• GREATLY enhanced Quality of Life for Nuzlocking.
• Gen 9 Mechanics and a Gen 1-5 Pokedex.
• Adjustable diffculty to be fun for both CASUAL and PRO nuzlockers.
• Tons of resources to use and challenges to overcome.

THE MOST BALANCED RANDOMIZER​

• Every single Pokemon you may obtain or overcome has gone through a deliberate manual evaluation for where it could be found, its potential moves, abilites, ...etc. Do NOT expect level up movesets on enemy Pokemon or a randomization based on the base game's power curve in any way. The Nuzlomizer has assessed every trainer and pokemon independently.
• Player and enemy resources will scale meaningfully, starting quite weak and becoming stronger until the battles involved very strong teams on both sides.
• More mandatory trainer fights, with revamped team sizes, power levels and improved AI, that will threaten your beloved squad. Naturally, Gym leaders will also be significantly more powerful than the average opponent.
• A LOT of items to obtain and craft the perfect team with, with some of them being limited resources to manage. Items are NOT randomized and carefully placed to scale with your progression and power your team up. This includes a TM pool of more than 50 new TMs, most of them containing powerful moves for your Pokemon to use.
• ZERO buffs or nerfs to the Pokemon's stats, types and abilities to reward game knowledge. Level up learnsets have been changed within the limits of a Pokemon's legal gen 9 learnset. Evolution levels have been largely changed for balancing purposes. (You can check the documentation in the Drive folder for level up learnsets and evolution methods).
• Hidden abilities are inaccessible to the player. However, many good hidden abilities have been changes to be regular abilities instead. Examples include shell armor turtwig, speed boost blaziken, scrappy loudred, and many more.
• Some trainers are double battles (Whether a trainer is a double battle or not is NOT random, most battles are single battles)

QUALITY OF LIFE​

• Infinte rare candy along with hard level caps.
• Infinite toggleable repel.
• The game automatically heals all of your alive Pokemon after EVERY fight, saving a lot of time and effort. (The nerf to predamage/prestatus is intended).
• HM moves can be used out of battle without teaching them. HM moves can also be overwritten if taught. A "Magical feather" item has been added for HM Fly effect.
• ALL Pokemon evolve by level up (except for Eevee, now a stone evolution). Pokemon with branching evolutions (Eg: Snorunt) evolve into either option by level up while holding either an Upgrade or Dubious Disc depending on the evolution you want. Evolution information is available in the documentation.
• No hidden items: All items on the map are visible (The only exception is the trash cans in SS Anne's kitchen, be sure to loot those)
• EVs were removed from the game except for limited access to EV-raising vitamins. Use the few ones you have wisely.
• Slightly inaccurate moves such as rock slide and air slash have been buffed to 100 accuracy.
• Catch rates have been improved on a large number of Pokemon.
• Wild Pokemon cannot have moves such as explosion, memento or teleport that would guarantee wasting an encounter.
• Safari Zone encounters were changed to normal-style Wild encounters, preventing Safari "luck checks".
• Free move relearner (late game).
• You can check your Pokemon's IVs on the summary screen.
• The gym leaders do not use items such as potions.
• You can no longer steal Wild Pokemon items with Thief. The game is balanced around the player only obtaining the held items from Pokemon they manage to catch.
• Encounter manipulation has been removed outside of abilities like magnet pull and trace. (All wild Pokemon of a given area are of the same level. All encounter tables in a given map section are the exact same, and alternative encounter methods such as fishing and sweet scent have been removed.)

STREAMLINED AND IMPROVED KANTO​

• REMOVED SURGE'S GYM PUZZLE!
• Removed all nonlinear paths by slightly altering the base Kanto adventure.
• Removed Pokemon Tower, Rocket Hideout and Silph Co. arcs entirely to get rid of annoying backtracking.
• Added encounters in cities/towns.
• Most importantly, The Nuzlomzier offers a completely new mechanic for Nuzlocke Romhacks known as "The Life Bargain" which will have you use your Pokemon as resources in a different way from usual.

DIFFICULTY SETTINGS​

The Nuzlomizer offers three modes of play you can choose from when starting your adventure:

• NORMAL MODE: This mode is more forgiving than the others, but still requires a bit of game knowledge and skill.
• HARD MODE : This mode is geared towards more experienced players. Trainer Pokemon will have stronger damage moves and better status moves. They will also often have significantly enhanced coverage. Moreover, you will face much stronger Pokemon in the late game compared to normal mode. Finally, Hard mode trainers will sometimes use treacherous Pokemon designed to get a surprise kill on one of your beloved partners. Be very careful.
• HARD MODE+ : This mode is similar to hard mode with a sole yet pivotal difference: Hard level caps have been disabled. In this mode , you are expected to manage your experience as per hardcode nuzlocke rules. If you try to use your best Pokemon for all fights, you will overlevel. This mode will require you to use your available Pokemon more strategically and take more calculated risks to get through routes unharmed. This mode can only be cracked by a TRUE Pokemon Master (Gym Level Caps are provided in documentation).

Note to version 1.0 players: Hard mode+ will be a bit easier than 1.0 in the early game, but significantly harder late game. Overall, this, and not 1.0, is your true skill test.

INTENDED RULESET​

The Nuzlomizer does not enforce any specific ruleset, including the Nuzlocke rules themselves. Your run, your rules.

MISCELLANIOUS CHANGES​

• Explosion and Self-destruct were reverted to their gen 4 counterparts, halving the target's defense before hitting.
• Setup moves' PP was greatly reduced (This change affects both you and the opponents).
• Consumable items, such as berries, air balloons, weakness policy ...etc. will not be restored if used or lost. As per modern mechanics, any other items WILL be restored if removed by thief, knock off ...etc. Similarly, you will not claim an enemy's held item permanently if you steal it.
• You obtain a large amount of money early on.
• Important note: As Pokemon from after gen 5 are not in the game, Eviolite will NOT work on Pokemon that evolve past gen 5 such as Dunsparce and Girafarig.
• Funny gym leader dialogue was added.

RECOMMENDED EMULATOR​

mGBA. it is the best and most accurate emulator (source: the entire hacking community). Android players should use Pizzaboy. Players have reportedly played through the entire game on it and did not encounter any problems. Feel free to try the hack any emulator but if you face issues they may be simply due to your emulator of choice. It is known that myboy has major issues that greatly affect gameplay.
