If you didn't get the mistakenly free version the other day, this discount is still worth it.

Great news - I may finish this before November.
Never gets old

PC got update too
Yeah IDK why the thread title update didn't save. I had steam listed in it too. The patch notes for steam is in the OP at the very least
Nice. Already had the PS4 one and so can finally enjoy 60fps.
"Available free for Mafia III & Omertà Collection owners."
I own Mafia iii digital PS4, and it's not free for me.
cool but where's 2 lol
Fuck yes! First reply GOAT

There's a separate PS5 purchase on the store. I had to redeem that for free. It's the PSN link in the OP. Maybe it'll take a bit for the store to recognise all licenses? Sometimes it takes a little bit for games, I remember Control Ultimate Edition was the same

yeah just "bought" it.
No free update at the moment for my day 1 digital purchase of Mafia 3 on xbox.
wonder if sony will end up revoking those free versions people got yesterday and whether it'll also take away the claimed PS5 copy
fuuuuck, I'll have to play it again. Donovan, the morally bankrupt CIA agent, is awesome lol.
Free upgrade for the free PS5 version i got other day lol. Question is, are trophies fixed now?
Oh nice, they did more than just Upres + FPS
Not a total overhaul of the game but those fixes in the patch notes will likely help the experience regardless.
The game can be a bit repetitive but the gunplay is a lot of fun (especially when you have a favorite load out to use with the bullet time).
If you're the kind of person who doesn't mind Ubisoft style open world where you're "taking over bases" and also get an amazing story along with this, this is one to definitely play.
Don't even get me started on it being basically the only game that addresses the racism of that era front and center in multiple ways.

Cool, i missed that!
Thank god for the PC updates, was hoping for DLSS/FSR support but cleaning up the windowed support is great

story and characters make up for the gameplay, IMO. One of my favorites open worlds from the PS4 era. And that soundtrack!
Hmm. Odd. So on PS5 I own Mafia Definitive Edition, Mafia 2 Definitive Edition, and Mafia Trilogy as 3 seperate apps.
Mafia 3 is classified under the "Mafia Trilogy" app. Not showing the free upgrade for me yet. Bummer. Maybe it'll be fixed?

Have a search on the store for the redeemable PS5 version

Mafia 3 on xbox shows old icon. When I start the game it shows definitive edition screen. But...the game is 30 fps.
Nice. I own the original physical release for Xbox One. Hopefully I can claim this update for free with my disc-to-digital Xbox Series license.
Got it for $6. I have an old disc lying around but fuck finding that loose gamefly disc and having to keep it in.
I assume this is fine to play first if I wanted to? Never played the series.
THERE IS POOP COMING OUT OF YOUR FUCKING ASSHOLE

No free update if you own Mafia 3. The update is only for Mafia 3: Definitive Edition owners.
I love that game. What a nice surprise.
Really cool that that this isn`t only a current gen version with 60fps, but that it also comes with improvements and bug fixes across PC/PS5/XSX.
Guess that was why the PS4 edition wass priced free by mistake the other day.
Good stuff, the game REALLY needed a PS5 version. Now just officially announce the Mafia 2 update... (or better yet, remake it and get much of the cut stuff put back in)
Curious about the PS5 Pro enhancements. No upscalers mentioned on the PC side so it's safe to say probably no PSSR either. Regardless, always great to see continued for older games. Backlog is too packed at the minute but will get around to this soon!

This is all I needed to see. And only $6 too? Bought.

Amazing performance from that actor. I loved how he's so crooked but is such loyal friend to Lincoln.
Tried both the OG disc and trilogy DE disc and neither gave me a path to upgrade on PS5.
Edit: Searching did the trick. Worked for me with the OG disc.

I remember when I last played on PC, no matter the resolution the game was, it was blurry, has anyone played and seen if it looks better. I think i had to mod it to try make it look a little better at the time.

I'm in a similar situation.
I think my Trilogy is from PS Plus, and looking at that step by step guide in the OP, it seems the upgrade is not valid for that version.
(all my games say they're for PS4)

PS+ didn't get the upgrade for Mafia 1 Remake so not surprising unfortunately.
I remember bouncing off this one due to the story starting great then sorta grinding to a halt for open world shenanigans to take place. Would enjoy revisiting it though.
Nice got it for free yday lol
PS5 Pro enhanced as well
Played Mafia 1 and Old Country and enjoyed them both. Ended up getting Maria 3 as part of a trilogy purchase but never played it.
Is it possible to mostly play the story with this or are the tedious open world missions that people complain about mostly unavoidable?
Didn't the ESRB listing include Mafia 2 for PS5? That not happening?
