I made this game after playing "tomorrow is my birthday" by rileylessthan9
(a game I highly recommend) after a particularly draining work day alone
on my bed in the dark. The gameplay was buggy and confusing, the art 
wasn't what many would call the best and the story was melancholic and 
didn't make me any happier. 
But it was so so beautiful. It made me feel less alone. like i was talking to a 
friend I didn't have. for years, perfectionism has kept me from releasing 
anything, and after playing something so imperfect and beautiful I felt that 
I wanted to make something imperfect myself, if only to finally prove to
myself that I could do it.

As much as I'm happy about my game's small success, it's also makes me
very nervous that there are now so many eyes on this buggy, clunky deeply 
personal rpgmaker game with what are essentially self-insert OCs. The 
first few comments I got made me really happy, but after a while, with 
every notification I got, these kind of thoughts started to be mixed in:
"eh? why?? this  wasn't really meant to happen...... go play something 
better!! go play OFF or Hylics!!! What do you mean it's on youtube now??
What do you mean you want to TRANSLATE this????? why?????"

 But that's how it is with putting things out there. And at the end of the 
day, I really am incredibly grateful for all of the wonderful and kind things 
complete strangers have said about something so personal to me.

 "comforting" is a word I've heard in the comments quite often, and I
suppose that is the essence of what I would like "hako and mewo" to be
for everyone else. If my game can make someone feel less alone when
they need it, the way "tomorrow is my birthday" did for me, or inspire even
a single person to create something on their own, then that is one of the 
most important things for me as a creator and I will continue creating with
all my heart for that.
