We've got a range of Prime Day PS5 deals to sift through this morning, but I've already unearthed some gold. Games like Pragmata and Lego Batman are seeing some of their biggest discounts yet, while controllers are dropping to their year's best prices and some top headsets are at record-lows as well. Whether you're upgrading your setup or creating a whole new one, there's plenty to take advantage of this week.
Amazon's Prime Big Deals event runs from today through to midnight on October 7. That means we have less than 48 hours to jump on these Prime Day PS5 deals.
Of course, there's one big question - how is the console itself faring? After a year of price increases, discounts on this device are going to be incredibly rare. As expected, the best way to save on a PS5 this Prime Day is by going down the recertified route. If you're grabbing a console ahead of GTA 6 you'll want to head to PS Direct for that $100 'discount'.
More of this year's Prime Day PS5 deals are going to serve those already with a console with the best PS5 accessories and the best PS5 games a lot better.
We prioritize value and performance in every gadget we feature, so this guide is free from cheap tat. Instead, we're focusing on the tech and games we've had in our own setups over the last few years and recommend everyday. Not only that, but we're concentrating our efforts around record-low (or the year's best) prices. That means you're getting Prime Day PS5 deals on the best tech at the best price.

Best Prime Day PS5 deals
PlayStation 5 Digital Edition (certified refurbished): was $599 now $499
This is the only way to save on a Digital Edition PS5 at the moment, by grabbing a certified refurbished model from Sony. That drops the price from $599 to $499 on the exact same console, albeit one that's been through Sony's office an extra time.
Disc Edition | $649 $549 at PS DirectView Deal
Pragmata is seeing a $20 discount in today's Prime Day PS5 deals. That's a record-low price I haven't seen before, $10 cheaper than the $49.99 we saw last month.

The Blood of Dawnwalker: Day 1 Edition: was $69.99 now $59.49
The Blood of Dawnwalker has taken its biggest discount yet this Prime Day. The newer PS5 release has dropped to $59.49 for its first ever departure from that $69.99 MSRP.

Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight - Playstation 5: was $69.99 now $59.99
Lego Batman is taking its first ever price cut ahead of Amazon Prime Day. You'll find the PS5 edition down to $59.99 at Amazon right now, for $10 off the listing price of the 2026 hit.

Resident Evil Requiem Amazon Exclusive Edition - Playstation 5: was $69.99 now $49.99
Resident Evil Requiem is also seeing some of its first major savings, dropping to $49.99 for the first time in its life. That's a $20 saving on the $69.99 MSRP - a price that hasn't seen too much wiggle room beyond $50 so far.

Our go-to budget headset for the PS5 has seen an additional saving this week. The Turtle Beach Atlas 200 still provides powerful audio through that easy wired connection, but it's doing all that at a $34.99 price tag ahead of official Prime Day PS5 deals.
Read more: Turtle Beach Atlas 200 reviewView Deal
The Nacon Revolution has been a few bucks cheaper, but that was way back in January of last year. Considering we haven't seen this $123 position on one of our favorite PS5 gamepads in more than 12 months, and it's only ever dropped to $119 in cheaper sales before, this is still a must-see.
Read more: Nacon Revolution 5 Pro reviewView Deal
From one extreme to the other, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni is our favorite headset overall, but at $400 it commands quite the price tag. This is the first time I've seen it drop below $379.99 when on sale, though, for a brand new record-low of $344.99.

Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded (PS5): $209.99
The Turtle Beach Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded is one to watch this Prime Day. There aren't any early discounts on our top contender for the system, but it hasn't been immune to discounts in the past and it's looking suspiciously high up its own price range at the moment. That smells like a discount is imminent. View Deal

How much should you pay for a PS5 ahead of GTA 6?

Many have been holding out for GTA 6 before grabbing themselves a PS5 upgrade, but the timing hasn't exactly been great. Like many others across the industry, Sony has raised its prices considerably in the last 12 months and a standard disc edition console will now set you back $649.99 / £569.99. Opt for a digital edition and you're still paying $599.99 / £519.99 while a Pro will run you $899.99 / £789.99.
Discounts on box-fresh devices have been few and far between. The only way to save on a brand new device in the last few months has been the odd bundle, but even then these are incredibly rare.
While we are expecting some sort of GTA 6 package deal closer to the game's release date, there's actually an alternative route I would take.
Sony's supply of recertified devices has been pretty sturdy over the year so far, and you'll find a console for much less than its new MSRP this way. If you can find an original release (non-Slim) you're even better off - I've seen these disc versions of the original 2020 model going for $399.99 in this recertified state before.
Using this method you should be expecting to pay $499 for a digital edition and $549 for a disc console.

Don't overlook this cheap headset

The Turtle Beach Atlas 200 is pretty unassuming from its price tag. On its worst day, this is a $59.99 set of cups - but it's usually found on sale for far less than that. Right now, you'll find it at a record-low $34.99.
This is exactly where I'd drop you off if you asked for a set of cups that won't break the bank but will still do your games justice. We reviewed them about this time last year, and gave them 4.5/5 stars. Their only downfall, a pretty sub-par microphone.
If you're only interested in getting your single player adventures sounding as good as they can, this is an immediate hit. We were impressed with that luxury sound profile at this price, and PlayStation's 3D Tempest Audio is covered as well.

Your top PS5 controller options explained

Looking to boost your PS5 gameplay with a more customizable pro controller? A number of brands are vying to have your back here. The top three we recommend on the daily are the Victrix Pro BFG, DualSense Edge, and Nacon Revolution 5 Pro.
The first is the best PS5 controller we've had in hands so far, with a super comfortable chassis, modular design and swappable control components, four effortless back buttons, and enough speed and precision to see you through the most hectic of battlefields. The Victrix Pro BFG is the gamepad we check first when hunting for new discounts, and shout the loudest about when we find them. It's competitively priced against the DualSense Edge as well.
Speaking of Sony's own pad, the Edge is for those who still want the experience of a more customizable controller but don't want to deal with PC software or awkward apps. It's got the surface-level customization features you'd expect, with a much easier system for setting everything up, but it doesn't go as deep as third party alternatives. Still, you keep those adaptive triggers and that rumble in place - key features dropped outside of Sony's releases.
Then we come to the Nacon Revolution 5 Pro. This one's a little trickier to get your hands on these days, but it's worth hunting down if you're a more competitive player. Those Hall Sensor sticks make for sturdier durability compared to other gamepads, while the asymmetric design, speed focus, and solid battery life keep it firmly in our hearts.
Victrix Pro BFG | $209.99 at Amazon
DualSense Edge | $199.99 at Amazon
Nacon Revolution 5 Pro | $199.99 at Amazon

I'll say it, the official DualSense charging stand is better than Razer's (and cheaper)

Even at full price, Sony's own DualSense charging stand has Razer's beat for one massive reason, though it loses out on two smaller ones.
The headline is that it charges two of your controllers rather than just the one. It sounds small (and obvious) but makes a massive difference in day to day play. I've had Sony's own model since day one (that's nearly six years of daily use) and dabbled with Razer's alternative a couple of times since. I still have Sony's in pride of place under my TV, while its alternative languishes in a cupboard.
The reason you'd opt for Razer's instead is purely aesthetic. Yes, the Quick Charging Stand does look better overall. Sony's is modelled after the PS5 itself (which I find adorable), but Sneki's is a lot sleeker and comes in a variety of different colorways and designs.
Sony DualSense Charging Stand | $29 at PS Direct
Razer Quick Charging Stand | $39.99 $35.95 at Amazon

Should you still be buying physical PS5 games in 2026?

Sony made the controversial decision to stop producing physical PS5 games from 2028 earlier this year, and with none of Microsoft's disc-to-digital plans in place for PlayStation fans it's worth wondering whether those cases are going to be put to good use in a few years' time.
We're seeing plenty of PS5 games on sale this Prime Day, but if you'll need to rebuy them all over again when the PS6 launches in a few years it can be difficult to invest in a shelf's worth.
Ultimately, digital games are still more expensive today than discounts on their physical counterparts. If you want to play a game now and you can get it at a much cheaper price at other retailers, that's going to be the way to go. After all, you'll still have your PS5 when the new generation rolls around.
If you're planning on picking up the PS6 as soon as it launches and want a larger back catalogue of PS5 titles to see you through the first few months, that could change. We're still a couple of years out at this point but it's worth considering how you'll be revisiting these titles in the future.

Does PS Direct do sales?
PlayStation Direct is pretty exclusive about some PS5 gizmos, from faceplates to special editions. The bad news here is that they rarely run their own sales outside of annual Days of Play events in the spring. That means your focus should be sitting on Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and GameStop this week.
It also means that anyone after the PS5 Wolverine special editions or the system's collection of Sony-produced covers likely won't find additional discounts on these gadgets any time soon.

The PS5 games to watch this Prime Day
We're already seeing early Prime Day PS5 deals dropping titles like Resident Evil Requiem and Lego Batman down to record-low prices but there are plenty more savings waiting in the wings.
This year's heavy hitters span Insomniac's Wolverine all the way through to earlier releases like Crimson Desert. Many of these are yet to see any discounts, let alone substantial ones - but Amazon's Big Deals event could well be their first plunge into the bargain bin.
These are the games I'm hoping to see some first (or larger) discounts on when official offers land tomorrow:
- Marvel's Wolverine
- 007 First Light
- Ace Combat 8
- Ghost of Yotei
- Pragmata
- Crimson Desert

A DualSense costs $75, should you just buy a pro controller this Prime Day?

The price of a DualSense controller has risen inline with the rest of the console family and, ahead of Prime Day PS5 deals proper we're staring down a $74.88 barrel at Amazon.
That's a lot of cash - pro-feature level cash if you're looking at alternatives for PC or Xbox. Unfortunately, almost all PS5 controller alternatives from third parties sit at even higher price tags. Licensing is hard to come by on Sony consoles, and brands like Turtle Beach, Razer, and Scuf aren't allowed to use certain features, like haptic triggers, in their own creations.
That means single-players often lose out on that neat level of extra immersion, while spending more on features like remappable back buttons, deadzone refinement and trigger stops that they won't need.
I traded my DualSense out for a Scuf Omega while playing Borderlands 4 and it made sense. The $219.99 gamepad felt great in a first-person shooter scenario, with those additional customization and back (and side) button options coming in handy online. Heading over to The Witcher 3 Remastered, though, I had to swap back to old reliable - I missed my adaptive triggers too much.
If Pro controllers were a small hop over the top of the DualSense's price they'd make a lot more sense. Currently, the closest we recommend you get is the Nacon Revolution 5 Pro (and that's still $100+ refurbished at Amazon). For single players, Sony's own controller is still generally the best value for money - unless you want to explore the DualSense Edge.

An actual saving on PS5's GTA 6: The Album
The CD version of the GTA 6 album is already 20% off ahead of Prime Day. If you're gearing up on PS5 tech ahead of the biggest drop of the decade, this is a must-see.
The $19.98 disc has dipped down to $15.97 already, and it's not even due for release until November 20. That's 34 original tracks from the game, all in your HiFi system for a hair over $15. Unfortunately, the vinyl isn't seeing the same kind of treatment this week, but this is still worth a look for collectors.

Is the PS5 Pro worth it this Prime Day? Probably not

I reviewed the PS5 Pro right when it launched, and even then I wasn't massively happy recommending it. Yes, there's a visual upgrade here - but players will likely only notice it if they use a monitor setup. From a regular TV screen while you're sitting on a couch? There's very little in this experience.
That was before Sony raised all its prices over the last couple of years as well. Now that a PS5 Pro will set you back $900 it's even more prohibitively expensive for those after a mid-cycle upgrade.
What's it got going for it? There's definitely smoother gameplay at that full 4K whack here, with more detail in your ray tracing effects and a little more storage for your troubles as well. Unfortunately, that's not quite going to cut a nearly-$1,000 outlay for an upgrader with a PS5 already in their arsenal or a $350-$400 boost from the PS5 Slim's current price.

No, I don't think we'll see discounts on that GTA 6 DualSense this Prime Day

One controller you can bet on staying at full price is that special edition GTA 6 DualSense. The gamepad tie-in dropped for pre-order last month and, while still in stock at Amazon, it's unlikely to see any discounts this Prime Day.
Special edition releases like this rarely get a look in within their first few weeks on the shelves and the GTA 6 version isn't just still in pre-order, it's tied to the system's biggest game in forever. If you're holding out for a discount here, you'll be waiting a little while.

A horror head has hijacked the live blog, so I'm recommending Resident Evil Requiem at its lowest price ever on PS5

Staff writer Jordan Gerblick signing on to take over the PS5 Prime Day deals live blog. Thanks, Tabitha.
If it weren't for Rebel Wolves' bloody brilliant vampire RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker, Resident Evil Requiem would be my favorite game of the year by far. Capcom's latest has it all: scares to makes you squirm in your seat, offset by cathartic action sequences starring everyone's favorite hot, buff guy, and my favorite new Resident Evil protagonist since Ethan Winters, the lovably anxious Grace Ashcroft.
There have been a ton of new games this year, and more than ever it seems like every new game released is a must-play, but believe me when I say Resident Evil Requiem is worth your time. For transparency, it is a very scary game at times, and while the Leon sections definitely help break up the tension, I wouldn't begrudge you at all for sparing yourself the anxiety and skipping this one. That said, if you fight through the tense parts, you'll be richly rewarded, and for less money than ever before thanks to this early Prime Day deal.

Some advice on storage deals

I've been covering Prime Day deals for too many years to count at this point, and one thing I almost always see is a whole bunch of discounts on console storage solutions, mainly SSDs. My advice here is simple but true: keep an eye out for the biggest discounts on trusted brands, which of course you'll be able to find right here at GamesRadar+, but also make sure you find one that's compatible with your PS5, as not all of them are. To do that, you'll want to look out for an M.2 NVMe stick that's clearly labeled somewhere in the product description as being compatible with PS5s.
As far as capacity, you'll find a range between 250GB and 8TB, but the sweet spot for general use is typically in the 1 - 2TB range, with 250GB offerings not being worth the effort and 8TB being overkill for most people who use their PS5s for playing games and not powering rockets.
I'm not seeing any early deals at all right now, but with Prime Day close on the horizon, I'm expecting to see plenty of reliable, easy-install PS5 SSDs with that sweet 'Prime Day deal' tag slapped on them. We'll keep you posted.

Sony's INZONE PS5 headset is $68. I wish I could've known that when I spent $120 on it.

Look, I'm happy with my Sony INZONE H3 headset. I think it's worth the $120 Sony asks. It fits comfortably yet snugly on my big head, sound quality is great, the attached mic sends my voice over to my friends' ears with crystal clear detail, and the spatial audio is perfect for when I want to scare myself silly playing Resident Evil during the spooky season. I just wish I was in a position to pay, say, $68 for the headset instead of $120, but alas.
For Prime Day, Sony has knocked down the price of the headset by 43%, letting you get the very same headset that's lasted me for almost three years for almost half the price. It is wired, so if you don't want to physically connect anything to your controller, look elsewhere, but this is a really solid price if you're on the market for a new headset.

A case for the base PS5

This is really just following up on Tabitha's writeup from earlier today on whether the PS5 Pro will be worth the price assuming it gets discounted for Prime Day. "Probably not," Tabitha wrote, and I'm inclined to go even further and say you should pay even closer attention to the base PS5, whether that's the digital version or the one with the disc drive.
I still have the same PS5 I bought back in 2020, and it's given me literally zero reason to upgrade. I play huge open-world games like Crimson Desert as well as big-budget action games like Marvel's Wolverine, and they pretty much always look and play great in performance or balanced mode. The big draw of the PS5 Pro is that you don't have to choose between visual fidelity and a stable frame rate, but I'm telling you that after a few initial post-launch patches, performance mode typically offers a perfectly stable 60 frames per second and an image that looks only minimally less detailed than it does on fidelity mode.
If the PS5 Pro were $50-100 more than the base PS5, it'd be an easier recommend, but with refurbished digital PS5s going for $499 and PS5 Pros selling for $900, it's really hard to justify the upgrade right now. On the other hand, if you don't yet have a current-gen PlayStation, even with the price increases, the base PS5 really isn't a terrible value proposition compared to, well, every other gaming-related device on the market right now. And it'll be an even better value if we see some good Prime Day sales this year.

Welcome to Prime Day PS5 deals
Prime Day has now officially begun, and I've had a quick glance through the offers that have sprung up overnight. We've got some brand new discounts on some of the system's biggest games and a saving on a pro controller that could put the DualSense in a tricky spot. I'm still hunting through this year's Prime Day PS5 deals and bringing you all the treasure I find right here.

Don't get too excited by those hidden PS5 prices at Amazon

Amazon is hiding its prices on PS5 Digital and Disc consoles right now, which sometimes means there's a discount up for grabs. I've added to cart and nope, we're still at the usual $599 / $649 for these devices.
My above advice still stands, then. If you're on the hunt for Prime Day PS5 deals on an actual console, you're best off heading to PS Direct's supply of recertified devices.

We have a discount on the Razer Raiju V3 Pro...

... but it's not one I'd take Amazon up on.
The Razer Raiju V3 Pro is one of the best PS5 controllers we've tested to date, stacked with remappable buttons and customizable extras as well as TMR thumbsticks to boot. The only problem right now is that $219.99 MSRP has only dropped to $180.49 in today's Prime Day PS5 deals.
That's not quite good enough for us. The gamepad has been on sale a few times this year, reaching a record-low for $129.99 back in February. Even outside of that blockbuster discount, we've spotted it at less than $150 over previous Prime offerings and it's even dropped to $170 during regular day to day sales.
I'd wait for Black Friday on that one, aiming for somewhere between $129.99 and $149.99.
October 6, 2026 – 5:53 AM
The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless has been cheaper before, but not this year

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless is also included in this week's Prime Day PS5 deals, with a 38% discount on that lofty $379.99 MSRP. That drops us off at $237.48, roughly $50 more than its record-low price.
Still, those kinds of numbers haven't been seen since last year, even with Omni model arriving to knock it off the top spot, the Pro Wireless has only ever hit $250 in previous 2026 sales.
Some context here, this was the best headset we'd ever tested before it was superseded by the newer Omni model from the same brand. It keeps those hot-swappable batteries and excellent audio, but you're paying a good chunk of change less. Both are on sale this Prime Day, with the latest version sitting at $344.99 (was $399.99).

Nothing DualSense-shaped this morning

The DualSense only takes discounts during particularly special sales moments - most reliably the brand's Days of Play sale in spring and second most reliably Black Friday. I'm not surprised we're still at full price for both the standard gamepad and the DualSense Edge here, but it certainly would have been nice considering we're starting at $74 these days.

We called Pragmata "a profound tale of humanity I'll not soon forget"

Capcom's sci-fi adventure didn't make a massive splash when it launched earlier this year, but our very own Jasmine Gould-Wilson gave the third person shooter a sturdy 4/5 stars in our review. This one's all about hacking, when it's not about shooting, and it makes for a slick return to fantasy action for the publisher.
Right now, you'll find Pragmata available for $39.99 in Amazon's Prime Day PS5 deals. That's the first time I've seen a $20 discount on the 2026 release - this one's only ever dropped to $49.99 in the past.

You're not going mad, PSVR 2 is nowhere to be seen

Sony hasn't really been selling the PlayStation VR 2 system for some time now. While it's officially still in production, there hasn't been any stock for a good few weeks now, and even PS Direct has run dry.
It's a shame, this is one of the best VR headsets we've tested - and compared to the prices of some PC-focused versions even grabbing a lens and a console is still friendlier on the wallet.
So no, you're not going mad - the PSVR 2 really is MIA, and its return is looking pretty murky.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is now just $16.99

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was a full priced game not too long ago. Amazon remedied that with a $19.99 sales price, but it's just dropped even further in this week's Prime Day PS5 deals.
You'll find the physical edition for just $16.99 on these shelves - compared to a full $49.99 rate if you head over to the PS Store itself. That's a serious win for physical collectors, and I'll leave it at that...

Will there be a GTA 6 bundle?

GTA 6 hopefuls are still waiting for that PS5 GTA 6 bundle, but we likely won't know anything about it until just before the game's November 19 release date. Sony is pretty regular about tying big releases in with consoles, and it's already buddied up to Rockstar (as evidenced from its 'Plays best on PS5' campaign).
Right now, all signs do point to a GTA 6 bundle timed perfectly for the holiday season. With Black Friday landing just moments after the game itself, and Sony struggling to maintain its momentum in the face of increasing prices, it's looking particularly likely the two will be married up come November.
Should you wait? If you're buying a PS5 at full price (ignoring those recertified devices) specifically for GTA 6, I'd hold off. We could see special editions (even more expensive) or small discounts on the game itself when packaged in with the console. Whether or not you'll get it in time to preload is another question.

The Scuf Omega just took its first ever price cut

Here's one from my setup to yours. I've been using the Scuf Omega for first person shooters and online excursions ever since I reviewed it earlier this year. It feels great and has all the customization options you'd expect from Scuf. Those side nubbins might be a sticking point if you tend to squeeze your gamepad to hit back buttons, but they can come in handy and can be switched off if not.
Ultimately, we're talking about Scuf's latest PS5 controller because it's just taken its first ever price cut. The $219.99 gamepad has dropped to $186.99 at Amazon today, for a 15% discount. Considering I've never seen a penny off this model in the past that's well worth a look for particularly competitive FPS players.

PSA be careful with console stands
I'll say it before and I'll say it again, I wouldn't recommend grabbing a PS5 console stand this Prime Day. You'll see a lot of stands, coolers, and game shelves built around the PS5 this Prime Day, but I wouldn't suggest picking up anything that interferes with the cooling of your device. You get that wrong and things can get pretty bad pretty fast - and considering most of these 3D printed plastic cases come from questionable sources at Amazon, it's difficult to fully trust any of them.
October 6, 2026 – 8:21 AM
Should you buy the PS5 Disc Drive in 2026?

The PS5 Disc Drive isn't on sale this Prime Day (it's barely seen a penny off its MSRP in its life so far), but is it worth considering if you're currently running a PS5 Pro or PS5 Digital Edition?
Sony's recent decision to stop producing physical games in 2028 puts real pause for thought in the way of this purchase. However, I'd still keep this little add-on in your mind. After all, that decision lines up pretty neatly with the expected PS6 release date which could mean it'll be the next generation that goes all-digital, PS5 discs aren't even in the equation.
It's also far more likely you'll find discounts and savings on physical titles compared to PlayStation's own store right now. An example from within the last hour; Final Fantasy is now $16.99 at Amazon while it's still $49.99 at PS Store. If you're thinking short term only, it's well worth considering.
In the long term, it's important to remember Sony's decision could drop backwards compatibility from PS6's roster from a physical standpoint entirely. If you're planning on upgrading from day one, you'll be running your PS5 at the same time if you want to keep playing your disc collection. In that scenario, building up a digital library now is going to make more sense.
