Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 adds Edgerunners 2 content, dual-wielding, cyberware customization, cross-platform mods, new quests, Tarot cards, console FOV controls, and major rendering upgrades.

CD Projekt Red has found yet another reason for players to reinstall Cyberpunk 2077. Arriving alongside the newly released Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, the free Update 2.5 is considerably larger than a conventional collection of anime-inspired cosmetics.

The most significant gameplay addition is Double Trouble, a new perk within the Cool tree that allows V to dual-wield Power pistols and revolvers. Four auxiliary perks expand the playstyle, while new Photo Mode poses let players properly document their two-gun shootouts. Dual-wielding has been associated with Cyberpunk 2077 since Jackie Welles began carrying two pistols, but it has never previously been available to the player.

Update 2.5 also allows players to customize their arm cyberware. After equipping Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire, or the Projectile Launch System, V can visit one of five new Glamdocs marked on the map. Each operates from a distinct shop, features its own voiced and animated introduction, and offers a different collection of colors and cyberware skins.

The direct Edgerunners 2 connection comes through Clampdown, a new side quest set before the events of the anime. It becomes available after completing The Heist and two gigs for Wakako, eventually allowing players to collect a five-piece equipment set based on King. HKGN 102.0 FM also joins the radio lineup with music selected from across the Edgerunners series.

One of the update’s biggest long-term additions is cross-platform mod support powered by Mod.io. Players on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 will be able to browse and install a selection of community-made content through an in-game menu. This is an initial rollout rather than unrestricted access to every PC mod, with additional compatible creations expected over time. Achievements and trophies will be disabled when using a modded save on consoles.

Another new quest, Welcome to Paradise, explores a mystery through a guided tour narrated by Richard Night, the founder whose name was given to Night City. It unlocks after The Heist once V reaches Street Cred level 15.

Players can also discover 12 new Minor Arcana Tarot cards through an extension of Fool on the Hill. Major and Minor Arcana now receive separate menu sections, and collecting the complete new set unlocks a special reward.

Smaller additions include five clothing collections, previously NPC-exclusive hairstyles, item filters for vehicle and apartment stashes, and playthrough-specific save grouping. 

The technical additions are similarly broad. Consoles finally receive an FOV slider, while PC support expands to DLSS 4.5 with up to 6X Multi Frame Generation and its second-generation transformer model. Compatible Samsung Odyssey 3D monitors can display glasses-free stereoscopic effects, Apple devices receive MetalFX Frame Interpolation, and the update introduces improvements to HDR, ray tracing performance, and PS5 Pro optimization.

Cyberpunk 2077’s Edgerunners 2 Update 2.5 launches October 22 for PC, Mac through Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mac App Store version will receive it in the following days.
