Enshrouded 1.0 Patch Notes – All New Features and ChangesEnshrouded 1.0 officially launched on October 15, 2026, bringing the survival RPG out of Early Access with its biggest update yet. Keen Games has opened the entire map of Embervale, introduced the dangerous Cinder’s Cradle biome, increased the level cap, and added new enemies, spells, equipment, crafting recipes, and building features.

The update also concludes the current main storyline, overhauls mage combat, introduces the Sparkworks logic system, and improves performance across a wide range of hardware. Existing players can continue using their Early Access characters and worlds, although the update resets their skill trees and custom keybindings.

Here is a detailed breakdown of the Enshrouded 1.0 patch notes, covering all major additions, gameplay changes, improvements, and fixes.

1. Enshrouded 1.0 Adds Cinder’s Cradle and Opens the Full Map

Cinder's Cradle Region in Enshrouded

Cinder’s Cradle Region

The biggest addition is Cinder’s Cradle, a new biome located in the northern reaches of Embervale, beyond the previously locked gates past Veilwater Basin. The area introduces challenging enemies, new crafting materials, and the final chapter of the current storyline.

Cinder’s Cradle consists of two contrasting environments. The lower region is a volcanic wasteland filled with lava, ancient ruins, and areas consumed by the Shroud. Above it, floating islands created by the Ancients contain unusual wildlife, ancient architecture, and powerful guardians.

The new biome is approximately between Blackmire and Veilwater Basin in size and features 12 new Shroud Roots.

However, Cinder’s Cradle is not the only expansion. The update also introduces:

  • Entire Map Unlocked: All previously inaccessible regions of Embervale can now be explored.
  • Expanded Existing Biomes: Springlands, Blackmire, Kindlewastes, and other regions receive additional playable areas near their boundaries.
  • Six Additional Shroud Roots: New Shroud Roots have been added to expanded regions, providing more opportunities to earn skill points.
  • Two New Hollow Halls: Players can explore new Hollow Halls in Albaneve Summits and Veilwater Basin.
  • More Quests and Locations: The expanded map includes new points of interest, secrets, treasure, and previously inaccessible structures.
  • More Building Locations: Many former no-build zones are now accessible for constructing bases and outposts.

Several existing environments have also received terrain adjustments, improved vegetation, and redesigned enemy camps. Roads in early-game regions have been improved to help players navigate more easily, while the transition between Nomad Highlands and Kindlewastes looks more natural.

The developers have also added three save points to the Shroud-covered areas of Nomad Highlands and additional save points to the Blackmire Spire.

2. New Story Content, Quests, and Progression

New Quests in Enshrouded

New Quests

The 1.0 update concludes the current story of Embervale, revealing more about the Ancients, the Shroud, and the forces threatening the kingdom. Players must explore the new northern regions and confront a powerful enemy connected to the game’s central conflict.

Story progression now leads through previously inaccessible structures and locations across existing biomes before reaching the final challenges in Cinder’s Cradle.

  • Main Quests: Important story developments and progression objectives.
  • Side Quests: Optional exploration, activities, and opportunities to obtain additional equipment or rewards.

New achievements have been added for Cinder’s Cradle, while the existing Shroud Root achievements have been updated to include the additional roots around Embervale.

Players who already unlocked those achievements do not need to complete them again.

3. New Level Cap, Equipment, and Flame Upgrades

Level 55 Equipment in Enshrouded

Level 55 Equipment

Enshrouded 1.0 introduces a new tier of character and equipment progression, allowing players to become significantly stronger before tackling the toughest enemies in Cinder’s Cradle.

Progression Feature New Limit or Change
Maximum Player Level 50
Maximum Equipment Level 55 when fully upgraded
Flame Level Level 11 added
Maximum Flame Altars 16 at Flame Level 11
New Shroud Roots 18 across the new and expanded regions

Upgrading the Flame unlocks more crafting recipes and equipment progression. A new survivor specializing in Ancient knowledge and recipes also joins the available crafting specialists.

Alongside the new progression tier, players can unlock additional weapons, armor, tools, arrows, spells, consumables, food, furniture, decorative objects, and building materials.

Another important addition allows players to push back the Shroud using Flame Altars. This feature becomes available after unlocking Flame Level 11, although the required level can be adjusted through world settings.

4. All Nine New Spells in Enshrouded 1.0

Spells in Enshrouded

Spells

Mage combat has received one of the largest overhauls in the update. Keen Games has added nine new spells, introducing more crowd control, area damage, utility abilities, and summons.

The following table lists every new spell added in version 1.0.

New Spell Effect
Mana Drain Drains Mana from enemies and restores the caster’s Mana.
Entangle Restrains enemies, providing crowd control during combat.
Pillar of Flames Creates a powerful fire-based attack.
Blizzard Deals ice-based area damage to groups of enemies.
Ball Lightning Deals lightning-based area damage.
Summon Fire Totem Summons a fire-based totem to assist in combat.
Summon Ice Totem Summons an ice-based totem to assist in combat.
Summon Shock Totem Summons a lightning-based totem to assist in combat.
Summon Hollow Skeleton Summons a skeleton companion to fight alongside the player.

The addition of summons creates new possibilities for necromancer and support-oriented builds. Players can summon Hollow Skeletons or use elemental totems to support their attacks.

Two new skills, Advanced Necromancy and Totem Mastery, allow players to increase the number of skeletons and totems they can summon.

The game also tracks active summoned creatures. If a player exceeds the maximum number of summons, the oldest one is replaced by the newest.

Eternal Spells and Magic Improvements

Existing spells have received additional progression tiers, allowing players to continue using their preferred magic throughout the game.

The update introduces several major improvements:

  • All spells now have Eternal versions, eliminating the need to consume spell charges when using those versions.
  • There are now 22 Tier 7 Eternal spell versions.
  • Eternal spells can be upgraded, with perks such as reduced Mana consumption.
  • Spell damage, Mana costs, and casting times have been rebalanced.
  • Area-of-effect spells now display a ground-targeting cursor.
  • Several spells have received new or improved visual effects.
  • More common and versatile spells can be found as loot, while certain specialized spells remain exclusive to crafting.

Spell crafting has also become less expensive, with fewer rare resources required for several recipes. Mined gems are now used in some spell charge recipes, while Ectoplasm requirements have been reduced.

5. Combat Changes and New Skills

The combat improvements extend beyond magic. Version 1.0 introduces new wand attacks, ranged combat abilities, balance adjustments, and better targeting for multiple weapon types.

New Wand Attacks and Combat Skills

Wands now have a heavy attack that can pierce enemies and interrupt attacks from weaker opponents. Players can also unlock aerial and evasive wand attacks through the skill tree.

Skill Effect
Aerial Wand Attack Allows area-of-effect wand attacks while airborne.
Wand Evasion Attack Adds an evasive wand attack with wider, piercing projectiles.
Advanced Necromancy Increases the number of summonable skeletons.
Totem Mastery Increases the number of summonable totems.
Blast and Cast After a wand critical hit, increases the base damage of the next staff attack within 10 seconds by 50%.
Puncture Increases ranged piercing damage.
Barrage Grants bow attacks a chance to restore one point of weapon durability.
Survival Instinct Restores time in the Shroud after killing Shroud-infested enemies with a bow or dagger.

Dagger-related skills have also been moved from the Warrior portion of the skill tree to the Assassin section. Several existing skills, including Veteran, One-Handed Specialization, Inner Fires, and Snap, have received adjustments to their placement, cost, or effectiveness.

Weapon, Arrow, and Combat Balance Changes

Ranged and melee combat have received several improvements to make attacks more reliable and provide better equipment choices.

  • New Eternal arrow variants have been added, including fire, shock, and bone-based arrows.
  • Eternal arrows can now be upgraded with additional perks.
  • Several weapons have received improved statistics and perks.
  • Weapons found in Hollow Halls have been rebalanced to perform better against Hollow enemies.
  • Heavy melee attacks can now hit multiple nearby enemies.
  • The attack ranges of two-handed axes have been corrected.
  • Blocking now allows Stamina regeneration.
  • Ranged targeting and aim assist have been improved, including additional controller settings.
  • Wands can now target explosive barrels.
  • Gem of Toxic Reaction damage has been increased.
  • Gem of Battle Mania and Gem of Obsession have received balance adjustments.
  • The Gem of Lesser Necromancy now limits the number of undead companions it can create.
  • Health, Stamina, and Mana leech perks have been rebalanced, particularly at higher levels.

The Shroud survival system has also been adjusted. Stacking multiple effects that extend time inside the Shroud is now less powerful, but hourglass capsules are more widely available and provide approximately 70% more Shroud time.

6. New Enemies and Boss Fight Improvements

Enemies in Enshrouded 1.0

Enemies in Enshrouded 1.0

Enshrouded 1.0 adds 37 new enemy types and variants. Of these, 14 belong to the new faction found in Cinder’s Cradle, while the remaining additions expand existing enemy factions.

Enemy behavior has also been improved. Opponents are better at detecting players, navigating difficult terrain, responding to nearby battles, and searching for targets after hearing suspicious noises.

  • Enemies regenerate health gradually after players leave combat instead of immediately returning to full health.
  • Elite and heavy enemies have received adjustments to their damage resistances and weaknesses.
  • Enemy reactions to different damage types have been rebalanced.
  • Enemies recover from stagger effects more quickly.
  • Flying and swimming enemies have improved movement and positioning.
  • Enemies now have a chance to drop rings.
  • Additional heavy enemy head trophies have been introduced.
  • Scavenger Matron attacks have been rebalanced, including reduced poison area damage.
  • Damage from Scavenger night patrols has been reduced to approximately 60% of its previous value.
  • Fell Vultures now drop more Enshrouded Vulture Talons.
  • More Hollow Halls enemies can drop Ectoplasm.

Albaneve Summits Boss Rework

The Albaneve Summits boss has received significant improvements to make the fight more accessible, particularly for melee-focused characters.

Its health has been substantially reduced, and a new exhausted phase allows players to attack it directly while it stands within the arena.

  • A larger walkable arena with fewer opportunities to fall off accidentally.
  • Additional Grappling Hook anchors for recovering after being knocked away.
  • Improved effectiveness of Stun Arrows and Shock damage.
  • Updated weak-point behavior, allowing all weapons to benefit from its back weak point.
  • Adjusted projectiles and aerial push attacks.
  • Fixes for boss resets, movement issues, and collision problems.

The improvements should make the encounter more manageable for players who previously struggled to damage the boss with melee weapons.

7. Crafting, Equipment, and Resource Changes

Crafting in Enshrouded

Crafting

Crafting has received major adjustments intended to reduce unnecessary grinding and improve progression. Numerous recipes now require fewer materials, while factories, farms, and crafting stations produce resources more efficiently.

  • New Gem Forge: A Gem Forge station can be placed in the player’s base during the later stages of progression.
  • Earlier Storage Unlocks: Regular 24-slot storage chests and Magic Chests are now available earlier.
  • Chest Upgrades: Existing storage chests can be upgraded or converted into Magic Chests without emptying or removing them.
  • Armor Progression: Craftable armor sets now unlock automatically when the Flame reaches the corresponding level.
  • Reduced Crafting Costs: Many armor, equipment, and consumable recipes require fewer resources.
  • Faster Production: Factories and cooking stations have improved production times and resource yields.
  • Faster Farming: Farm animals produce goods more quickly, while plant growth times have been rebalanced.
  • Legendary Upgrades: Legendary equipment now requires Legendary Runes one upgrade step later.
  • Lower Ectoplasm Costs: Several spell, arrow, and Hollow Halls furniture recipes require less Ectoplasm.
  • Reduced Flame Upgrade Costs: Flame Levels 6 through 9 require fewer materials, with some uncommon resources replaced by more accessible alternatives.

The Alchemical Base recipe is now less expensive, and crafting the Glider requires less Shroud Adhesive. Several stone-based recipes also use materials from their corresponding biomes instead of relying heavily on Springlands Stone.

Ranger crafting progression has been improved with dedicated dagger-focused armor sets in Revelwood and Nomad Highlands. The Marksman and Sharpshooter sets have been moved into the loot pools of their respective regions.

Players can also craft the new Puke Potion, which removes active food buffs, and use Critter Parts to produce Chitin Powder.

8. Sparkworks and New Base Building Features

Sparkworks in Enshrouded

Sparkworks

One of the most significant additions for builders is Sparkworks, a new logic system that allows players to connect interactive objects and create their own gameplay experiences.

Sparkworks uses craftable tools and interactive props, allowing players to connect inputs and outputs through a dedicated 2D graph editor.

For example, players can connect switches, pressure plates, doors, and traps to create interactive mechanisms.

The system supports custom puzzles, automated doors, traps, obstacle courses, escape rooms, and combat challenges. It also expands what creators can build and share through Adventure Sharing.

Airborne Architect and Building Improvements

The update adds the Airborne Architect skill near the center of the skill tree. This allows players to enter a free-flying building mode, making it easier to construct large or elevated structures.

  • New furniture, props, building materials, and decorative plants.
  • More environmental props available as crafting recipes.
  • Additional potted plants, including all night plants.
  • New red marble columns and arches.
  • Thyme seedlings and the ability to plant Cattails and Reed in shallow water.
  • The Quick Stash Station is now available earlier, with a side quest introducing it.
  • Improved furniture placement, snapping, and collision detection.
  • Improved behavior of doors and other animated building objects.
  • Higher durability for several decorative props.
  • Better pathfinding for survivors and animals inside player bases.
  • Fixes for animals escaping through fences and other enclosure issues.

More foods can now be placed on plates and coasters, while fish trophy plates can be placed on floors.

The update also improves several water simulation issues and fixes problems with building near the Shroud.

9. Loot, Exploration, and Fishing Improvements

Loot in Enshrouded 1.0

Loot in Enshrouded 1.0

Exploration has become more rewarding, particularly during the opening hours of the game. Additional chests have been added to Springlands and Revelwood, giving new players more opportunities to find equipment, Runes, and useful materials.

  • Legendary item drop chances from all chests have increased by 5%.
  • Wooden chests can now contain equipment comparable to Silver Chest rewards.
  • Common-tier loot has been removed from Silver Chest loot pools.
  • Gold Coins can now appear in loot chests throughout Embervale.
  • Gold Coins can be exchanged for selected items, including vanity equipment.
  • New Archaic Lockpicks are required for higher-tier locked chests and doors, beginning in Cinder’s Cradle.
  • Archaic Essence mining yields have increased across all tiers.
  • Several mining materials have been made easier to gather.
  • Hourglass Capsules are more common in the Shroud and can also drop from large Fell enemies.

Fishing System Rework

Fishing has received a substantial progression overhaul. Players can now catch every fish species in any body of water, provided they have the appropriate bait and a fishing rod capable of handling that fish’s tier.

Each bait primarily attracts fish from its corresponding tier, allowing players to target specific catches more reliably.

Improved bait guarantees that a hooked fish belongs to the same tier as the bait. The chances of catching Rare and Epic fish have also increased.

Fishing treasure and junk probabilities have been adjusted, and the treasure pool now includes additional rewards.

10. Multiplayer and Adventure Sharing Updates

Multiplayer in Enshrouded

Multiplayer

Version 1.0 improves multiplayer management by introducing a more flexible permission system and enemy scaling options.

Hosts can now set a default permission level for joining players and individually promote or demote them during a session. These individual permissions remain assigned when players leave and rejoin.

Dedicated servers continue using their existing password-based permission groups rather than the in-session promotion system.

A new Automatic enemy-count setting also adjusts the number of enemies in encounters based on the number of nearby players actively participating.

Players exploring other parts of Embervale are not included in the local party count.

  • New categories and tags for shared adventures.
  • Improved browsing and sorting options.
  • The ability to view the complete list of adventures within a selected category.
  • Options to remove previously submitted upvotes or downvotes.
  • The ability to view adventure details and vote while visiting a shared adventure.
  • Better controller navigation within the Adventure Sharing menus.

Cross-platform multiplayer is not available at the 1.0 launch. Keen Games is working on crossplay support but has not announced a release date for the feature.
