Assetto Corsa EVO自由漫游12月9日上线

Assetto Corsa EVO is bringing Free Roam to the game on December 9 as part of update 0.10, giving players their first chance to explore Germany’s Eifel region outside the usual racing circuits. The area is home to the Nürburgring and plenty of winding country roads, all being recreated at a 1:1 scale using LIDAR scanning technology to closely match their real-world layouts.

Players will be able to cruise through small villages, take on narrow backroads, explore mountain routes or just find a nice stretch of road and enjoy the drive. Everything from road widths and corners to elevation changes is being recreated to match the real thing, while familiar locations such as gas stations, garages, hotels and restaurants will help make the area feel more like an actual place to explore.

Kunos Simulazioni wants players to enjoy Free Roam however they like, without having to worry about earning money or unlocking vehicles along the way. Every available car can be driven right from the start, including official vehicles and those created by the modding community. Players can stop for repairs, change tires, refuel or wash their cars whenever they want, and there won’t be anything stopping them from leaving the pavement to explore off-road areas. There’s even a walking mode for those who want to get out of their cars and take a closer look around.

The first version will support both single-player and multiplayer with traffic, changing weather conditions, navigation, teleportation, points of interest and time attack challenges included. Friends can meet up in parking areas, head out for a drive through the countryside or compete against each other on closed roads. The same driving physics used on EVO’s racing circuits will also apply here, so players will still need to be careful when pushing their cars through tighter corners and narrow stretches of road, especially with vehicle damage remaining part of the experience.

The entire Eifel region won’t be available when Free Roam first arrives on December 9, but Kunos plans to keep expanding the map with additional roads, features, content and game modes through future updates. The initial release should give players a good idea of what to expect with plenty more planned as development continues.
