Global Esports is leaving VALORANT and esports entirely. Founder and CEO Dr Rushindra Sinha announced the exit on October 19 in a video posted to X, releasing the full roster and confirming the Indian organization will become GE Studios, an AI-focused venture.

The announcement followed the best season in the org’s history. Global Esports won VCT Pacific Stage 2 in September, its first VCT title, and reached Masters London, the Esports World Cup, and VALORANT Champions in Shanghai, where LOUD took the title last week.

The decision predates the trophy run

Sinha said the exit was decided long before the title. “Last November, when the entire partnership structure was changing, when Riot reached out to us and asked us about our future, we told them that 2026 was more than likely going to be our last year in Esports,” he said.

The Stage 2 title arrived almost a year after that conversation with Riot. GE had already committed to leaving, and the win did not reverse the plan.

Why the org walked away

Sinha tied the decision to Riot’s reworked VCT structure. “To run an entire organization just to keep a roster together did not make sense, because even if one player left, the entire thing would crumble,” he said. The new structure would have required a full company to field five players.

A single-roster org has no second team or separate business to absorb one player leaving or one rule change. Sinha called the release the fairer option, so the players could take a breakout season into the open market rather than stay tied to an org in transition.

GE would have been running a company with staff, operations, and overhead for the sake of a single five-player lineup. When the roster’s future became uncertain under the new rules, the org’s reason to exist went with it.

Five players, now free agents

The released roster is Savva “Kr1stal” Fedorov, Go “UdoTan” Kyung-won, Kale “Autumn” Dunne, Xavier “xavi8k” Juan, and Patrick “PatMen” Mendoza. “This marks the official last day of Global Esports as a competitive roster,” Sinha said.

The five players won GE’s first VCT trophy together in September and became free agents six weeks later. Each now enters the off-season market on the back of a title run.

Global Esports held a partner slot in VCT Pacific, and Riot has not yet said what happens to that slot now that the org is gone.

The org exits a VALORANT scene that is mid-shuffle. Riot revealed the next duelist, Hush, during the Champions weekend, and off-season roster moves are underway across every region.

GE Studios, and the wider pattern

Global Esports will continue as GE Studios, an AI-focused venture. Sinha said it would amplify what the org built over a decade. “We are ending our Esports chapter just so that we can pave the way for a brand new chapter,” he said, and described the shift as powering everything GE has done with artificial intelligence.

Evil Geniuses announced its own shutdown a day later and gave the same reasons, sponsorship and cost pressures. The two exits landed within 24 hours of each other.
