索尼PSN 785万美元和解案将于10月15日进行最终批准听证
Sony PSN Settlement Heads to Final Approval Hearing on October 15
Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín holds the final approval hearing for Sony’s $7.85 million PSN settlement on October 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time. The settlement covers US players only who bought specific digital games on the PlayStation Store between April 1, 2019, and December 31, 2023.
The case is Caccuri, et al. v. Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC (Case No. 21-cv-03361-AMO) in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. It alleges Sony overcharged players after it stopped outside retailers from selling game-specific vouchers.
Sony denies any wrongdoing, and the court has not ruled that Sony broke any law. If the court grants approval, eligible players with active PSN accounts receive their share as wallet credit, with no claim form to file.
Who Qualifies for the PSN Settlement
The Last of Us
The settlement class is much narrower than every PlayStation Store customer. It only covers games that were once sold as download vouchers at retail, and only when Sony’s store price for that game went up compared to the years before. A purchase must meet every condition below to count.
- Location: The buyer is a person in the United States.
- Purchase window: The game was bought on the PlayStation Store between April 1, 2019, and December 31, 2023.
- Voucher history: A game-specific voucher for that title was sold at retail before April 1, 2019, with at least 200 redemptions before that date.
- Price increase: The game’s post-discount price during the purchase window was at least 50 cents higher than between January 1, 2017, and March 31, 2019.
- No opt-out: The player did not file an exclusion request by the July 2, 2026, deadline.
Players do not need to work out the voucher and price rules themselves. The official eligible games list has 103 product listings across PS3, PS4, PS Vita, and PSP releases.
It includes The Last of Us, The Last of Us Remastered, the Bloodborne Complete Edition Bundle, Until Dawn, God of War III Remastered, NieR: Automata, No Man’s Sky, and the PS3 version of Demon’s Souls.
Several franchise entries cover a single release, not the whole series. The list includes the FIFA 17 Standard Edition, three editions of NBA 2K18, and WWE 2K17 through WWE 2K19. The Resident Evil 4 listing is the PS3 release, not the 2023 remake.
How to Check Your PlayStation Purchase History
Transaction History
Your PlayStation Store transaction history lists every purchase with its date, so it is the fastest way to match your library against the eligible games list. The history shows the past two years by default, so the date range has to be set back to 2019 manually.
- Sign in to Account Management on the PlayStation website with the account used for the purchases.
- Select Transaction History.
- Set the date range to cover April 1, 2019, to December 31, 2023.
- Compare each game title against the eligible games list on the settlement website.
On PS5, go to Settings > Users and Accounts, then select Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Transaction History. On PS4, go to Settings > Account Management > Account Information > Wallet > Transaction History. Only the family manager can view family members’ transaction history.
How Much Each PSN Account Receives
NieR Automata
No per-account amount has been published. The money is split pro rata, so each class member’s share depends on how many qualifying purchases they made compared to the total qualifying purchases of every eligible class member.
Court-approved costs come out of the fund before distribution. Class counsel requests 25% of the $7.85 million in attorneys’ fees, plus reimbursement of costs and expenses.
Counsel also requests $30,000 in total service awards for plaintiffs Agustin Caccuri, Adrian Cendejas, and Allen Neumark, paid from either the fund or the fee award. A.B. Data, the settlement administrator, expects notice and administration costs to stay at or below $190,000.
In its April 8 preliminary approval order, the court found that the credits work on any game or add-on content on the PlayStation Store, with no expiration date. Any money left over after the first distribution goes to the nonprofit Girls Who Code, subject to court approval.
Deactivated PSN Accounts and Check Requests
Until Dawn
Players with closed PSN accounts had a cash option. They had until August 27, 2026, to request a check from the administrator by providing their qualifying purchase information and a current address. That deadline has passed, and a recent court filing shows that no request qualified.
A Joint Status Report filed on September 24 states that the administrator received 438 check requests. Sony’s data team matched each request to an eligible account and confirmed that none of those accounts are closed, so none of the requesters qualify for a check.
Requesters who are otherwise eligible receive wallet credit instead, and the parties are directing the administrator to notify them.
Final Approval Hearing Date and Location
Resident Evil 4
At the October 15 hearing, the court decides if the settlement is fair, reasonable, and adequate, and rules on the plan for splitting the money, the attorneys’ fee request, and the service awards.
The hearing takes place at the Oakland courthouse, not the San Francisco address listed in the original notice.

The hearing starts at 2:00 p.m. PT (5:00 p.m. ET) in Courtroom 5, 2nd Floor, 1301 Clay Street, Oakland, California. Anyone can attend and observe.
Class counsel reported nine opt-out requests and three objections. One objection argues the PSN credits are coupons, a question the court addressed in its preliminary approval order, where it found the credits are not coupons.
Sony distributes the credits only after the court approves the settlement and the approval becomes final. No distribution date has been announced. The court can reschedule the hearing without further written notice, and the settlement website posts hearing updates.
